Some aftermarket filters are great for most people who crawl the mall and never worry about dirt. they can just clean them every few years and call it a day.

K&N are shit and outdated in the "high dirt flow" filter industry, oiling a filter is just archaic..

So do you wait a few days to let the oil blow off before you clean the MAF?

Right after a wash and oil I'll let it sit overnight before putting it back. Then I would run it until the CEL came on. Pull the MAF out spray it and done. The CEL never comes back. Until another wash and oil.

    LOL What!

Thats not exactly the ideal way to do anything:rofl:... run it till it fouls then clean.. :der:

or or or you could just use less oil. or better still a dry filter.

Well if the CEL never comes on for it, then there is no point in pulling the MAF. The point is that WHEN the CEL comes on for it. It can be cleaned. That's it. Not a big deal. I only ran the K&N for a couple of years and went back to the paper filter after I noticed how much was getting passed it.

Because I want to take my truck to the next level. I know I could be fine with 33's but I know it won't be good enough for me. I rather skip it and not deal with two years on them. I also don't want a crawl box either. Figure 35's and 5.29's will give me everything I want from this truck. It's still my daily but so is my motorcycle. And if I had it my way I'd ride the bike far more than I drive the truck. I'm sure it's insane to some but I really think I'll enjoy the truck like this both on and off road. If we go anywhere far we take the wife's car anyway.

Cool. I still think that 33s are best for these trucks. But nothing wrong with 35s either. I like mine alot. But wouldn't want them on a DD. Tires are too expensive haha

Love MTRs...not looking forward to buying new ones though to replace mine..haha

Yea, they are great in a lot of ways. But, id never do it on a more dd/weekend warrior rig. Not worth the effort or money. 33s are great. Just add skids and pick good lines.

Exactly. Plus retrofits look really good than a stock chrome housing.
