Oem can surprisingly take a decent beating. I know I beat the fuck out of mine, the previous owner beat the fuck out of it, and I passed it on to yet another member. And we didn't take it easy on it.

28.25" needs removed from the frame. Almost the perfect amount, like it was destiny. Kids, do not attempt this at home.

Yeah it's a pretty cool trail. If you stay on the main trail it's super easy but there's some offshoots that are more advanced. Definitely check it out when you have time

That's true. But when I 4 link in the spring that won't matter. Until then it will be a little redneck. Same with the front end though.

Had my mechanic look at it and he said it looked good. Nothing was loose, and a chain was the only thing I could pull him with. It was that or leaving his vehicle there for it too flood over night, due to the bad weather coming our way.

My truck was not equipped with a passenger airbag. I double checked before I dremeled it out.

    Head unit. That's it.

I am genuinely asking: Will the 4 link improve traction? I would think that adding all that torque, and then shortening the wheelbase would hinder "traction"....So, the 4 link would improve that dynamic?

Interesting. Learn something new every day. Thought airbags started in 96 with the 4runners and Tacomas.

Not sure about 1997 models, but I do know that in 1998, all Tacomas had passenger air bags.

I don't know enough about it to say for certain, but as long as the geometry is correct, it will be as good or better I would think. If the angles are wrong it wants to drive the ass end up instead of forward. There are all kinds of calculations for a proper 4 link. Race cars use 4 link rears so it must be fine for traction as long as it is done correctly.

New to this so I need info. I got the timing belt kit and with the water pump I got a gasket with it. The book I have says to use RTV sealant. So do I just use the gasket only or do I add the sealant?
