What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Is that what your getting officially? Bad ass man. My dad wanted those soooo bad. But they were 400 a piece for a 17'' rim lol

 

The only thing is from what i've seen the Kevlars wear way faster than the KM2's do. The KM2's I can see getting 40-45k+ out of a set, the MTR Kevlar, probably 30-35K. But I guess if they're a good reliable tire, then it could be worth it. And KM2's are kind of played out imo. Wont be buying another set when it comes time for new tires. Probably some MTZ's, or something along those lines.

 

Yeah that's what I'll be going with. If I just go with KM2s again, it'll feel like a wasted opportunity to try something new/different.

Good to know! 30-35k mi out of them should be pretty good for me. I don't plan on driving much for the next few years, and I'm hoping to really get the ball rolling on a SAS in about 3 years.

 

Just dropped her off to get my new trail gear axles put in! and to get the check engine light problem diagnosed im hoping something cheap!

Added a Sound Ordnance™ B-8PT 120-watt compact powered subwoofer behind the rear seat of my 2001 double cab Tacoma. Finally a decent sub that seems like it was made for the tight space behind the seat. Everything is nice and hidden. I was going to put it under the drivers seat, but didn't want my daughter kicking it if she sat behind me. It's more than enough bass for me and really made the music come alive. Wish I had added it years ago, but I didn't know about the sub till reading some others on this site had it in their trucks. Wasn't too expensive either.

read some reviews about the mtz's man... I personnaly HATE those tires. they are terrible in snow(first hand experience). And u being a guy who wheels hard and often, id say check into other tires... just tryin to drop a line for another first gen owner

 

Really? I've heard just the opposite, that they're one of the best MT's in snow!

 

put new front brakes and rotors this weekend and also installed rear extended brake line. just got 1.5" lift shackles and new toytec poly bushings to be lifted 3.5" all the way around the truck!!!!!! ill get some pics when im done with it all!

 

X2 I know guys who run them all year long up here. And we get some brutal winters. Great tires!

You going manual hubs in your conversion? If not, 3.5" of lift in the front is going to be pretty harsh on the CVs.....

 

UPS guy just dropped off the OME shocks, coils, and dakar leafs for my truck! Going to install them on Saturday, can't wait! Will post picks of before and after when I get done.

I unplugged my parking brake switch and my master cylinder sensor, and away went my brake warning light

 

I got rid of my brake warning light which is in the instrument panel, by unplugging a switch and a sensor...

I would check your brake fluid level before doing that. Unless you already have. Our trucks trigger the e-brake light whenever we are low on brake fluid
