Mine was doing this and it was the coil boot. They were dry rotten and letting the spark arc out and misfire.

C'mon man, I know you're smarter than this. I know you don't like me, that's fine. Still doesn't change the facts of what I said. But in case you really don't get it, or for anyone else that's trying to actually learn something...here's a simple diagram to show the concept of how you can get more than 8" of suspension travel from a shock with an 8" stroke. Feel free to check dimensions of the shock body and 1" increments, they match. Like I said before had my shocks been mounted vertically then yeah that would only allow 8" of travel. As you can see, that's not what's happening here. Don't be dumb, just because you want to take a jab at me.

Yea vertical travel get tricky when you start to angle things

Again, angling shocks decreases their overall effectiveness on dampening but nothing tuning can't solve. It'll just be harder to tune. The only point to angling shocks it to maximize travel of a smaller shock.

It's a game of compromises if you don't want shocks poking through the bed.

The more you lean the shock over, the more vertical wheel/axle travel it allows within the range of the spring. Leaning it over also means a loss of dampening. This compromise is best met with shocks that you can revalve for optimal performance.

    Question:

For running wire in the engine bay (lighting harness/LED harness/etc) I am looking at getting some wire loom on Amazon.
Is the 1/4 inch too small? I also see 3/8 inch and 1/2 inch?

Yeah, its for the Taco, but it is also for a 2003 Dodge B2500 camper van, which has a tight engine bay, and I figure is a hotter engine bay. I also guess, maybe there is cheapo loom (for tidying up lines) and more protective loom for auto/engine bay usage.

We aren't talking about flexing. Vertical travel. As in, if you jumped your truck how much would the axle travel be straight up and down.

Flexing is different. I can easily flex out a 35" tire below the slider. But vertically I can't come close to that.

I get the 1/2 in stuff at HF cause it is cheap, the only down side to the 1/4 is that it is harder to get the wires into it and you can't add to the loom later cause it is so small

It only gets more complex. The more inboard the mounts, it's changes. The more angled in any direction, it changes.

Pretty cool really. But can be complex fast.

Yeah I believe I am apart of starting this whole thing. I apologize for that lol! But this is a lot of new info to take in, especially when you don't know too much about it. Gets pretty overwhelming. A lot of different opinions. But what I am getting out of it is...Since I have acquired 10" shocks. It is better for me to mount them as vertical as possible to help dampening load at higher speeds and just all together etc. More outboard to control load for stability since I use it as a DD and do a lot of mountain driving and I still get decent wheel:shock travel considering what my truck is for. It's not gonna be 1:1 travel but enough for me as I do not do a lot of crawling yet considering my truck is a Daily for the time being. I feel I have a basic understanding of this whole thing. I'm young and I still have a lot to do to the truck and I have a lot more to learn about the geometry aspect of the suspension. But I think for now I have I setup brewing that I think will be good for me right now. Now am I rightish? Yes or no?
