I thought about trying that but I think you'd need over a thousand pounds in the bed to get full compression on expo springs plus it just seemed very dangerous to me. I ended up just measuring carefully and calculating the location of the bump at full compression.

Full hang is easy, just remove the shocks and jack the frame.

Super bumps are a great option. No need to go to hydro bumps.

If you spending the money on Kings, break down the pack and do it right. If you truly say you're not off-roading enough to cycle the suspension, then you're fine with way cheaper shocks.

As others have said, that'll never work.

Why's it everything gotta be so difficult. I think I'm still 2 or 3 weeks out on my springs so i guess we'll see... What's the easiest way to take them apart without blowing up and then put them back together

Buddy and I cleaned the headlights. Already noticeably better, and I haven't seen them at night yet.

DO NOT BUY KINGS. C'mon man. If you're pretty much stock then buy pretty much stock shocks. Get bilstiens and call it a day.

Totally get this now. Front ride height set too high. Honestly was on my, "to lower" list.

If you're using stock shock mounting points? I hear Kings, yet your not cycling your suspension or changing mount points. Like dudes above said, get a bar welded across your frame, buy a few shock tabs, and you will definitely benefit and get what you want out of your alcan. Might cost a couple hundred bucks (if that) to do having someone else weld all those in.

Couple hundred bucks has a different meaning to you then it does to me.

Thanks everyone, I guess I'll just have to see how much money I have when the time comes.

If that's difficult you've got a long road ahead of you to build a truck.

Breaking apart springs is easy. Put a C clamp on them, take out the centering pin, loosen the clamp, and they're apart. They won't blow up. Make sure you have a new centering pin for when you put them back together. I bet Alcan would send you an extra pair of centering pins if you ask.

Try doing a build from Canada. This place is a geographical oddity. Two weeks from everywhere.

The thing is, not measuring it correctly and just going "eh, this sounds about right" is a very easy way to blow out a $300 shock.
So while it isn't going to be cheap in the beginning, setting it up right is going to be cheaper than trying to make the stock mounts work on your custom suspension.

Custom springs pretty much means you have to go with custom shocks and mounts.

I just don't know where to even start with stuff like a new cross member, what metal (size, thickness, stuffs) do I buy, where do I weld it in, what do I need to weld the new mounts. And I k kW there's tons of different opinions and where to weld the mounts. I read s whole thread on it.
