What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Ya same here. Lowest I have seen is $500 for brand new oem. And for cvj and LRO once you send your core back they reimburse you a $100. They also send a free return Shipping slip as well I believe for your core rack.

 

If you wheel at all I would suggest going with a new OEM rack. Should be able to find one for ~$600 shipped. Do it right or do it twice. Getting one swapped in is on my to-do list.

Myself and a lot of others aren't completely satisfied with Rack Doctor. Mine's leaking slightly, and the ITREs they use are junk.

 

I thought I saw some on ToyotaPartsDeal for like $450. Not sure if it's reman'd or not

Curious about cvj since there cv axles have such good reviews. Have not actually heard feedback though lately from anyone actually using there rack.

Yeah I have but I'd rather get my rear suspension squared away. Then when taxes come in next year get 4.56s and 285s that way I'm not under powered for a few months

 

Nice! I came up from 265 to 285 on 4.10's and really have not noticed a huge difference. Really only when starting from a stop in 1st is a bit slower to get going but nothing terrible.

Once I put my TW decal on the back window I think I gained 10hp so it all worked out

that's where i got my at/3s from. I got the last set in 265/75/16 on ebay, but they just emailed me saying they are out of stock. But they took care of me and said a new shipment comes tomorrow and will ship friday. I think if anyone wants the deal, they will accomodate

How much could someone sells sightly used (on the truck less than a year) set of Dorman leaf springs then? 150$?

 

Camelback Toyota is the cheapest by far they give an awesome TW discount. They have a thread on here, ask them for a quote before you buy a new oem.

In Phx we have a local axle and drive shaft place, they do an awesome job rebuilding racks and cvs. Might be worth a some research if you have one near you to see what they would charge to rebuild your rack and what they offer warranty wise. They do cvs in 30 mins or less, so might be able to do a rack in a day, higher down time than a swap but might only be a day and save a ton of cheddar.

I looked at camelback but I found they only offer a 3% tw discount unless I'm mistaken? Plus the cost of shipping.
