Today I cleaned my headlights of the cloudy crap on the surface using an insect repellent with 25% deet. It worked pretty damn good and only took about 1 minute to do. never again will I just deal with my cloudy headlights until I can't stand em.

    https://www.prescottimportcar.com/how-to-clean-cloudy-headlight-lenses/
Scroll about halfway down for the easy directions. This shit is amazing. I used to spend 30 minutes or so buffing and sanding every year or so with a $20+ kit. This deet process used shit I already had around to the house. Paper towel, insect repellant with deet and water.

I'll pray for your lights man, those methods never work in the long run. Next thing you know it's cloudy city again.

This is the only guy's methods that I trust

Even if it lasts me a month it literally took 1 minute and was practically free since I already had the stuff needed and will always have those things as I live near the coast and mosquitos are everywhere here most of the year

If you wanna spend more time and money, the thorough method explained in this video is the right way to go. If you wanna do a slightly easier and cheaper method that also works very well, try out Chris Fix's method in this video here. Done this on my truck and my buddy's X5 and it does quite a good job. Just be careful and smooth with applying the clearcoat because if you spray too much in one spot, you will notice it.

A couple of wheeling seasons ago,the group had stopped on the trail for whatever reason and were just jawing, standing in front of my truck. Somebody broke out the deet spray cause the mosquitos had found them so they were spraying themselves then passing the can to the next guy and the next and so on. Fast forward to the next day and I'm washing my truck and notice one of the headlights (the one they were all standing by) was streaked and had spray marks. on it. This was textured, like it had partially melted the surface. I'm sure it was from the overspray from the deet.

That shit literally ruined the clear plastic of the headlight. Be careful with that technique. I'm convinced it will work but if its unevenly applied it will be crap.

I've done the insect repellent thing on 3 of our cars and on my in-laws' vehicles. I was very surprised how well it works, and how long it's lasted.

Sweet! I've been looking but I couldnt figure out exactly which part number it was. With my luck the local dealership would send me one from a corolla or something.

    Thank you

No problem. Parts diagrams can be annoying.

I found this website and it seems to have nice part diagrams. I use it to cross reference correct parts and numbers and then buy from dealer or Toyota Parts Deal
