No doubt. The chances of your average person choosing to put a 1st gen Tacoma on the front is extremely low. Usually it's full-size American trucks. And if they were aiming for smaller trucks given the relatively low strength of the strap, they would probably go with a Ranger.

@TrailRider2002 did you beef up the rear frame section? I was just trying to get a response from @allpro if they would ever make a swingout for their rear bumper which is very similar to your Trail Gear. Someone replied to my post that they probably wouldnt since our frame and mounting point for the rear bumper is weak? None the less...great work and wish I had the welding skills to make this happen.

I have had both those bumpers. From the pics that's definitely a all pro without the dimple plates imo. The flared out upright support bars and how high the wrap around come up to the taillights give it away for me :)

    Yes and no.

Our rear half of the frame is C channel and is know to bend with lots of weight. Several ways to cope with this via external frame plates or boxing the frame.

That said, i don't think that would hold back allpro. Sure doesn't hold back CBI.

Actually those straps come in different ratings and the picture matches. the midsize ones shown is a taco. The next bigger a full size truck and the size abovr that shows a f650

Since its straight exposed c channel its super easy to box in with a strip of flat bar.

IIRC it's not so much as the weaker internals but the aftermarket CV's don't have as much range of motion/travel as OEM. Like that CV you posted looks like it's binding like crazy at ride height. My guess is that those inner boots are going to wear out pretty quickly if that truck is your DD. Would be interested to see how long they last though.

I figured the pictured truck was indicative of the appropriate sized vehicle. I am just surprised it's a 1st gen Tacoma and not an American truck.

Actually it isn't straight. It's arcs and gets narrower towards the end. Still, pretty easy. But not ideal for everyone as boxing means you need to add your own cross bars and new shock mounts.

Good opportunity to do stuff like that though

Thanks Monte! Actually i am adding the BAMF shock relocation so that part will be done :D if I do go the swingout route, may look into plating the frame just for the peace of mind.

Front range offroad makes a nice plating kit.

Ya that's what I've read too, I'm on the third notch on my 5100s so it's at a pretty good angle. I'll post back in here when one of them fails. It is my dd so may not be long...
