Today, my truck has collected more pollen, it desperately needs a bath.

Also, quick question: (Let me know if you all think I should ask this in a different section as well or instead of here)

I've noticed in my truck that when I hit a bump or pothole in the road and i'm going any faster than 25mph, my front driver side makes a god awful sound. (i'm pretty sure it's front drivers) It's hard to describe, but i'd say it's some combination of crunch, grinding and a creak. any ideas what it might be? I just want to have some idea before I take it to a mechanic.

check your ball joints and shock housing and mounting areas.

    Try bouncing the front end.

Let me preface this with a quick disclaimer that I basically know nothing about this kind of stuff, that's why I'm seeking a little help, so I can avoid getting ripped off by a mechanic.

I'm familiar with the bounce test, as far as the shock stuff and the ball joints, what's the easiest way to check on these?

How long should ball joints last? I can't remember exactly when, but I know since I got the truck in october of 2010 that i've replaced at least one. (can't remember which side) -- I know, a lot of help....

take it to an alignment shop and have them look it over and tell you and show you what is making the noise.

Not too happy with the fit. They had to move it back about a quarter inch to get the back window to close...

Overall I'm happy but that quarter inch is going to start bugging me....

...install was last Oct and carried 350 lbs of Patio stones around (doubled up behind rear axle at tailgate) did this for 4 months and 3000 miles and it would not settle...also towed heavy tongue loads and hauled firewood with the 350 lbs....did not help settle

Dakar pacs on their own will be fine with me!!

this pic is with the 350lbs out and after all of the above
