What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

SAD how much good stuff is ruined by POS people at pick and trash it places. It's rare to find one on a pick n pull around here.

Oh yeah man. I got ripped a new one for that.

I was just trying to make a joke at the fact that someone ordered so much food, the only vehicle that ALL the food could fit in is a pickup truck.

I took that picture not too far from the junkyard where I found that truck. The actually still active truck on the left was actually a lot more beat up than the one I found at the junkyard (on the right) when it was still intact. I actually had to do a double take because I thought it was the same truck, but the junkyard one is from a city up WAY up north (Lafayette), while the active one making deliveries was in San Leandro (which is also where I took the picture). I find it kind of weird Round Table uses Tacomas as a standard fleet delivery vehicle.



Fun Fact: The Pizza Planet truck from Toy Story is based on the final gen Toyota pick-ups before Tacomas were introduced. You could even make out the middle of the TOYOTA logo on the tailgate.

 

What parts are you supposed to lubricate in your doors? I know the window regulator use grease in the tracks, but do you need to lube the lock actuator? What else needs to be lubed?

 

that and put a little grease on the window gear, that's about it

gotta say... the best thing I did to my tacoma was not a goddam thing. leave it alone, weld the hood shut, run it til long after it's not fun any more and then push it over the side of a deep ravine.

They are harder to find these days. It's actually a "Better-Built" box but badged "Kobalt". Here is the model at wal-mart but also says out of stock.

I liked it because I didn't want the really wide boxes taking up more bed space since I haul bikes sometimes.
