Thanks. Looking forward to getting them dirty. Just need a month or so of warm weather to melt the snow. Might not be until the end of May.

    Too many…
I parked my truck on the drive way and I noticed some oil on the ground. I look under and I see this is full of oil. This there a thread on more info on it, or the name of it. IMG_1147.jpgIMG_1150.jpg

Anyone ever replaced oem body mount bushings with poly's? Noticed my cab is sagging 1/4"+ compared to the bed by body line comaprison. Removing the front bumper necessary?

I've done a mod or two
Yes you must remove the bumper to reach them, actually with the relentless it may be possible to leave it on. I wouldn't do poly though, suspension is fine with poly because high stress and weight makes the impact less noticeable to the driver. But holding the cab I have a feeling unless it was a super soft durometer it would be more jarring. I'd get new rubber mounts.

I thought about that also. Energy claims to be better than new oem both with longer life and better ride but i dont know. Need to find someone who has done it

    Stuff. Also things.
I've had stock mounts, ES poly mounts, and now a poly Daystar 1" body lift (oh noes!) that is integral to the mounts. So far, I definitely prefer the poly, but then again, I don't have any experience with brand new rubber mounts. I'm sure they ride nicely.

One thing I noticed about the poly after the factory rubber was a reduction in higher frequency vibes and noise with a slightly harder feel on sharp hits to the suspension. But the poly also felt more 'planted' on turns, so that helped offset the slightly harsher feel on big hits. YMMV.

All kinds of folks have, myself included. I saw a tiny bit of difference, the kind of thing one forgets about in a couple days.

Now, "1/4"+ of sag"? There is only about 1/4" that the OE mounts can sag before they bottom out.
The pic below is an OE mount at around 200K (no weight on it in the pic). Note the distance between the two flanges.
Check the appearance of yours and also look for any deformation of the cab floor/cab back seam or deformation where the mount bolts to the cab.

OEM LBJ's are the one thing that really need to be used, you can look on YouTube for reviews and failure of the Moog LBJ, life time warranty means nothing when the LBJ fails and you destroy your truck or lose your life, I replace my LBJ's every 100,000 to be safe with OEM. Why would anyone use anything else to save 50.00?

The rest of the parts that will break if those break aren't under the "lifetime warranty"

Besides. Your OEM joint didn't fail anyways. The bolts did. thats just another design flaw of our LBJs. Moogs aren't going to improve that. Locktite and proper torque will.

    Just get OEM LBJs.

Hermano, I didn't notice your dilemma until too late I think. I wish you could bring your taco to me and we could get you wrapped up with the right parts and done the right way. Offer is always there.
With as much off road driving as you do, this scenario in particular calls for the OEM joints. It's the unexpected, seemingly out of nowhere failures and the other things losing a ball joint takes out. The job in and of itself isn't bad. Needs to be done right and with right parts. That's critical to your taco's durability and reliability.
