Nah its a V6, Its actually 17.5 mpg with the 33's. Seems like i fill up alot especially with the high gas prices these days. I heard V6 1st gen Tacoma's come out of the factory with 22 mpg. Maybe ill change my fluids and see what happens.

Switched to Mobil1 5w-30 Full Synthetic engine oil tonight with a YZZD1 Toyota filter. 101315 miles on the clock. First time i've done the oil change myself (New Tacoma owner). That filters a b!7ch to get to!

I found the Mobil1 on sale at O'Reillys last week for ~$4.49 - Not looking forward to paying $8.19 a qt. after the sales over! (I was able to get 12qt's at that price...) What do you guys pay for your Mobil1?

First time I changed my oil it took me a good 15 minutes to FIND the filter haha. None of those tools to get it out work well, I just use sandpaper as a sort of glove and it works pretty well

mines a 99 so it might be different but its really easy if you pop off the plastic wheel well liner. the clips come right out with some needle nose and then, voila! its right there. i have skinny arms so i can just reach up behind the LCA no prob but if i was a bigger dude i'd pull that plastic. and i've only bought mobil 1 once and i'm pretty sure it was like $11 a quart. was at a really expensive gas station in the country tho. either way, you scored.

As I recall, the new car sticker said 16 mpg city/19 mpg highway. This was for the v6. People certainly have gotten better than that but those were the epa estimates.

I paid $35 for a 6-pack at costco last week. That was 5W-30.

i cant figure out how to setup the ultraguage for fuel consumption, i've tried doing it a few times but it is always off so i just divide the miles on the tank by how many gallons i fill up:rolleyes:

my UG is always off about a gallon compared to how much i put in at the pump and its kind of annoying. AND i cant get the "gallons used" to get back to zero. when i hold the UP button for a full fill up the Fuel level goes to full but the gallons used does not reset and its effecting my calibration

    A few bolts are different.
Spring time = Bestop for me. I never run it in the winter due to wear and tear. If I has a fiberglass top I would probably not run it a bunch in the summer.
