Reaaaalllyyyyy cheap. Everything all in all should be costing around $1,500.

That's why I drove to the next state over. Here in California, the average price (I did averaging for 10 Toyota scrappers and general junkyards) and the average cost was $600 for an A340F without the transfer case. This junkyard in Nevada only charged me $250 Plus a $15 core charge for the transmission.

I bought my complete transmission, transfer case, front Differential, shifter assembly, trim, and 4WD mudflaps from them for a little under $1,000.

The other stuff like the driveshafts, and knuckle/manual hub assemblies is what consist of the other $400-500 and I have them lined up through the great people here on this forum.

Do your research, you will find a deal. I saved almost $2,000+ buying parts from a junkyard with the lowest prices instead of buying in my state. Nevada also has a really low sales tax versus California with the 10% sales tax.

What I did was have a spreadsheet with 5-10 different junkyards, online sources, etc and found the cheapest prices that I could. I then narrowed it down to the junkyard who had all the items I needed at the cheapest price, which narrowed it down to a yard in Reno. If I went to the Toyota specialized truck dismantler in Sacramento, I would've paid well over $3,500 for this stuff with all the core charges and tax. Just do your research and you'll do fine.

That won't help any, only at ride height and if it clears now it'll clear better with all of that. Best way to trim is take out the shock and jack up the LCA until its at full bump and then turn side to side and clear it that way. It's what I had to do for mine and it clears just about everything, hopefully a new alignment can help it out on the driver side.

This truth is why I am sad that the reason I swapped mine out was because of this, and not some rebuildable reason. I still have these lying around, but tbh I don't really trust them.

Yep, thats the plan, get the front bumper and winch and everything else on so i can set the coilovers where i want them for ride height, then take it to full bump and find out where it rubs lock to lock and cut it all away. Not sure what you were referring to when you said "that wont help any, only at ride height..." What wont help?

I thought you were going to wait until you get that extra weight up front, but setting the ride height won't affect any of the rubbing right now if it doesn't rub (unless stuffed). If you full bump it now and cut it'll clear perfectly fine when you get the bumper. So in a sense it won't matter if you wait for the bumper or do it now, full bump is the "worst" rubbing you'll get regardless of extra weight

Right on, now I'm see what you were saying, we were on the same page.

But yes, everything clears at ride height now, (although my ride height will probably change once it gets the winch and bumper, hence needing to readjust the coilovers) and making room for everything at full bump will for sure allow it to clear at ride height!

Does anyone know of a write up on putting led lights in the bed?

I'm looking to removed the liner, prep the led install (drill any holes), get a spray in bed liner and then install them.

    Yup same page now!

But yeah that added weight will need the right height changed. Just take before and after measurements and you'll be set

I love my clutch. Lce is an awe some company. Their bearing they supply are oe, I verified that when I got them. Only complaint I have with my dual compunder clutch from them is the noise when cold... squeaks. But a wise man once told me: race car parts make race car noises. Live with it.

The heavier fly wheel makes bogging the engine when crawing so easy... does slow the truck down tho, wont gain rpm as fast

My 04" temp gauge is right around that level since new. Always thought it was a bit high, but that's a normal reading level.

I guess I'm in the same boat. I thought it was odd too because of where my gauge needle is on my civic. Good to know.

Return to the Oregon Backcountry Discovery Route

Back in May, we'd attempted to run the northern 40% of the Oregon Backcountry Discovery Route, from Seneca to the Washington border. A day in, we chose a more reasonable goal: Seneca to Unity. And at day three, we called it quits - less than 50 miles from our start point.

So you can imagine that we were excited for a second chance. Redemption as it were.

I'll be posting the story and pics a day at a time - a lot happened, and there are some 300 pics to get uploaded and worked in to the story. Enjoy!

How do you secure your toolbox now that you have glass bedsides? Also where'd you find that hood?
