    Changed out dual electric fan and went back to crank fan on 96 4x4 LT taco. E-fan couldn't take the heat...fine for city driving and light offroad, but sand wash and hill climbs would send the temps over the hill.
    Going back to stock was a good decision. Temps hold solid, actually run cooler on the trail than freeway, says the Ultraguage.

    BMW seats, OME Suspension, CBI and NWTI plates front and rear, 13,000 winch, LED light bars, Ham Radio, topper with roof rack added, stainless exhaust, 2nd battery, inverter, sound deadener
    Picked up a set of BMW leather, power, heated seats at the salvage yard today. Came with the cut off of the wiring harness. Spent the evening on various BMW forums, searching out wiring and connector diagrams. Have most all of the wires labeled. Taped up the side air bag ones, so no accidental deployments!! Tomorrow I will begin testing the various functions. If all goes well, then it will be on to grafting my rail feet onto the BMW rails. They are almost a perfect match width wise, so not a terribly involved fabrication. Just have to get them properly spaced forward and back, to allow my 4' 9" wife to reach the pedals and give me ample leg room too. Pics to follow!

    I need to get this
    I dremeled out the plastic in the back of the ashtray and removed the ashtray bracket to get it that far. Then i made a custom cable Using a right angle crimp on pl259 connector such as this image without having the need to heat up the air duct behind the ash tray. You can probably find a premade cable somewhere on ebay. As for mounting it in the ashtray i used a few zip ties and 3M double sided sticky tape, Its not ideal but it survived the summer heat.

    When you get the LBJ make double sure they are OEM toyota and not just Sanki/555/Moog. You can tell if they are OEM by seeing if the mounting holes are machined out.

    @Speedytech7 did you swap out your pilot bearing with the new clutch? I've been scoping out ways to do it. Wondering what is the easiest for these trucks!

    Yah I swapped it. I'm a cheap bastard so I packed the space behind the bearing with grease and used the pilot install tool as a piston and hammered the grease in and the pilot gradually comes out. Just gotta keep repacking and hammering.

    This guy does it right but I didn't bother with a loose fitting extension, went straight for the clutch alignment tool because it has the exact pilot bearing inner diameter.

    I was thinking of using bread or wet newspaper - two other options I read about that are less messy I guess lol. How about the rear main seal - I'm thinking hole saw and plywood to get it down flush with the crank / flywheel mount and tap it in from there...

    FWIW it was easy to clean up, two napkin job and one was for brake cleaner. The cavity behind the bearing is actually pretty big all things considered so make make sure whatever you put behind the bearing can be pulled back out if it doesn't work or it'll be hard to use this method. I didn't bother with my rear main because there was zero signs of leakage and I'd rather not screw around with it. But on the 3RZ the seal has a little housing that pulls off on the bottom and allows you to maneuver the seal into place, makes it so there isn't much work needed to make it flush too. There are seal installation tools though for making things like that flush, the crank juts out past the seal though.

    Removed old green coolant(it wasn't me) and added Toyota long life. Drained transmission fluid and added Redline MT90.

    Yeah I went to HF and their biggest seal driver was 3 1/8" or something and this one is like 3 1/2"+. It's not leaking at all.... I might [​IMG]
