I have noticed recently when I first turn my truck on for the day and shift from park to drive there is a clunk sounds from the rear right? I just did my rear brake shoes a couple weeks ago and noticed it after that. However this only happens when the truck is sitting fore extended periods of time. Something to be worried about or just brakes shifting in the back?

I spent all day retrofitting the new motor in. If I hook it up to a 9V battery, everything works. It was getting to the end of the day so I closed it up before taking a multimeter to the connectors.

Passenger side actuator has always worked. Using the door lock/unlock button on both doors, the passenger side works but nothing on the driver's side. I cleaned the connectors, cleaned the driver's side switch. It originally had an alarm system, it looked like a dealer option but it never worked right so I removed the little control module.

 

If your not getting power to the motor. (Which it sounds like since the passenger side works fine) It's probably a broken wire. Either the blue or the blue and white. Those 2 wires control the motor and switch polarity when unlocking and locking. Common place to break is were they bend between door and cab.

Looks fancy. I just bought the doorman. $45 off Amazon. Packed it with grease like the instructions said. Guessing some have forgot about that part

 

For less than the oem one I figured I'd give it a try... they make them for Rangers, but a piece of flat bar on the top pretty much fixes the only issue that comes with that.

 

Dorman South Main Auto has some pretty good rants on the quality of Dorman parts.

 

I love that guy - I spend a good amount of time watching those videos. Awesome stuff.
