I put a Gentex mirror in mine with the Temperature, Compass, and Homelink. My config was rare because not many mirrors had the Homelink AND the Temperature integrated into it. That integrated screen is great - where is your backup camera? Looks like it's on a camper shell or something

It is a real pain to find one of those, I got mine from a package deal when I bought the power door stuff from a guy local to me parting his truck out. I have it setup so Row52 notifies me when a Tacoma arrives at any junkyard within a 100 mile radius of me. I noticed none of them are ever the 6 lug trucks - they're always the 5 lug trucks and always an early model year. I've seen a few 2001+ but they're always ex fleet vehicle single cabs with the bench seat - so no center console. I guess people buy up the 6 lug trucks at auction and they never go to the junkyards.

In that picture its at the top center of the camper shell. I ended up sending that camera back because it was crap. The image was angled even though the camera was completely flat. The actual lens was tilted in the housing. I ordered a nicer one, but I will be putting it in the same location. I want to be able to see the edge of the bumper when backing up.

Give a call to NNAWG Airport Auto Wreckers in Reno. I picked up all my 4x4 conversion stuff there. They have like 20 different Tacomas to choose from - and a lot of them are 2001+ double cabs. I was tempted to buy a new center console because mine is a little beat up, but I only had enough cash for the 4x4 components. I saw about 6 Double Cabs there. (775) 825-6761 ask for Jeremy

Can't complain about the prices either. I paid a whole $450 for a complete A340F and transfer case. Cheapest Tacoma parts I came across after calling tons of California junkyards. They sure do love their Tacomas in Nevada - they had a ton of them in that yard.

Yep coat both sides of the gasket with a thin layer of the permatex, then install everything hand tight. Wait for an hour or so and torque it all down. Bonus is it helps keep the gasket stuck in place while you're trying to get it all lined up.

Luckily I'm doing this outside of the engine bay. I figure it shouldn't be too hard to drop the engine in with the headers since the old exhaust is going to be removed.

Yeah that should make life easy. Can't remember if that was you in the other thread that said you were installing some DT headers?

Yep. They're backordered for a few weeks which is fine since I've been super busy at work. Still have to clean up the mating surface on the other side, replace the pilot bearing, rear main seal, and install a flywheel and clutch.

It's actually 3/16 with a few 1/4" gussets. It's braced and mounted really well, so I'm not worried about it bending.

Behind the rocks is awesome! High dive upchuck and white knuckle are some of the gnarliest obstacles I've done. Going the "normal" way is easier since the hard obstacles are "down". I did the full trail without a front locker, just my rear, 35s and my chev 63 rear. Pritchett..I agree with your judgement call lol! I'm only doing it now because my truck is as built as it can be at this stage, locked front and rear, 35s, full armor, good suspension...Certainly need people that know what they're doing on those trials. Cliff hanger included!

That would explain choosing to purchase steel for the frames from the O24U Metal Co.

It's over on my 98 and it sucks because it sure is tight against my new leafs.

Yeah I'm not sure I would be ballsy enough to do high dive unless I saw someone go directly before me and knew exactly what line to take. Seen some gnarly videos of that one. I'm trying to find a balance of some really good wheeling and challenges while out there but still trying to make sure I can get back home. Fully armored, locked front and rear on 35's should get me most anywhere I want to go as long as I keep my wits about me. Hopefully I can find a solid group to run cliffhanger with, definitely want someone who's run it before. Cliffhanger and BTR are probably the hardest I'll run though. First time out to Moab so I want to feel it out and do well but I don't want to wheel like a bitch either. Built my rig to take a beating.

Yeah that ad almost sounds too good to be true unless the seller really has no idea what used Tacomas go for. :fingerscrossed:

Downloaded a pic editing app. Apparently, I'm about 5 years behind the rest of the world. Filters are cool.
