Really? I would never have thought of that. ;)

    Can't do everything overnight.

Had a pretty productive day today getting ready for Cruise Moab next week. Picked up a couple nice sized surplus explosive boxes. Water proof and sealed. Sprayed them with Rustoleum bedliner today. They'll go on the bedrack and carry gear that needs to stay out of the weather with the topper is off.

Rebuilt my hilift jack with new climbing pins/springs and shear pin. Repainted it. 10 years of living on the outside of the truck had taken it's toll. Looks almost new again.

Got my 20lb CO2 tank mounted in the bed.

Tomorrow will be getting the boxes secured to the rack, and having a new extended rear brakeline made.

I'd like to see pics of your explosive can storage setup when you get it mounted.

I recently purchased a couple of 20mm ammo cans and am waiting on them to come back from sandblasting before I mount them in the bed of my double cab. They fit PERFECTLY between the wheel well and the tail gate. They are about 2" shorter than the bed side.
I'll be using them to store recovery gear in one side, and air accessories in the other.

I finally got all the components together to install a roof rack system on my cap. Picked up the feet, crossbars, and locks off of Craigslist for cheap and bit the bullet and bought the TB60 (60" track) new. The install was pretty easy, just had to measure a shit load of times before I drilled the holes. New she's good to go, fully weatherized and solid as a rock!

    check it out :)

had my Gibson 55122s installed this morning. Got rid of the swiss-cheesed stock muffler with 100k miles on it.

The Gibson sounds AWESOME. Deep and throaty under 2k rpms.

Will get some video up after this weekends camping trip.

I'll try to get some pics today. I will be mounting them up in the next couple hours. The 20mm boxes you got are perfect in that spot behind the wheel well. I had some of those in my last truck. The ones I have are definitely bigger than that.

Love your truck btw. It's looking great!

Yep, bought mine at the local surplus store for $15 each (good deal because they were in excellent condition). I also bought a couple 50cal cans for $8 each.

BTW, here is an online place to purchase them, that has the dimensions listed for each box. Good for reference if nothing else:

I have had this medical supply box for several years now it it works fine in my Land Cruiser and in the trailer as well as in the bed of the truck, but it is large enought that when it is loaded it is VERY heavy and hard to move around if I needed to. That led me to look at a similar approach with smaller boxes.

    _MG_1341_f02b6065ce44ca96fa337e064f4d7376cb018283.jpg

Here's a few pics of the boxes I finished up today. The two together are comperable in size to the larger medical supply box but if I need to move them, they are much lighter and easier to move than that bigger box.

This is a much better setup, because even though it does block some visibility, I still have a mostly unobstructed view out the back using the rear view mirror.
