Took my bed off to look at the frame and see how the POR from last year has held up. Its peeled away pretty bad in some places, I can even see bare metal in some spots but looks good in others, Im not sure how to prevent this from happening, Im thinking maybe there was a little leftover of that toyota undercoating on there that I didnt get off completely that made it peel? Anyone know how much it'd cost to just have toyota do another round of undercoat? Im so paranoid about this frame falling apart one day...

I unplugged that damn piezo and now my truck doesn't beep anymore. It still locks and unlocks. The lights still flash too! :amen:

Hmm, odd. I have heard really good things about POR15. Never used it myself. 2 years ago, I applied the KBS undercoating kit and each year I have sprayed Fluid Film over top of everything. So far, most of my undercoating is still there. A few spots here and there have chipped away, mostly far rear, by the shackles. But I am impressed. I am gonna give it one more Winter (with new Fluid Film) and see how it is. If it holds up as I expect it to, it looks like I will do KBS every 3 years and FF every year. If ya wanted to be more secure, you could do KBS every 2. Oh, and for peace of mind, I have done the Eastwood internal coating for the boxed section the past the past 2 years. Not sure if I am gonna get to it this year though.

Did you do any prep before putting the fluid film on top of everything? I'm gonna do a couple more coats of POR in some spots and then just prime it and paint it with a few coats of paint.

No prep before fluid film. Just spray that shit on liberally. Just make sure to do it after your undercoating is dry.
You can spray it all over. It doesn't harm plastics, rubber or anything else. I use it on all easily accessible metal parts (frame, diffs, coils, crossmembers, leafs, etc...) as well as in any locks and on latches. It works wonders for your tailgate. Goes from needing to hold to handle or slam it to a smooth push like you'd expect it should be.

I need to do the door buzzer next. That looks just as easy. The only thing with getting to that piezo plug was I have my ballasts and grounds running through there. So there was less room than a stock wired truck. I had to check to make sure everything still worked after pushing against all those connections. Lol! I heard there was a plug under the driver's seat. So I unplugged it and it just made the seatbelt light on the dash stop flashing.

Sorry I was in a rush and couldn't post the pic of the diff so I just linked the thread it came from. You can see the mounts are the same:

The 4x4wire page said that all 96+ 4Runners use the same rear diff presumably the one in the pic.

So I’m trading my front diff for another members he has manual hubs mine are automatic. Are the diffs still exactly the same?
