Had to do starter contacts this weekend as the starter got stuck engaged. When this happens you have to disconnect battery asap as you risk wiring harness catching fire. Thank goodness I had a 10mm wrench sitting on the floorboard. I picked up the two contacts and new plunger for 15 even from local electric auto parts place.
Also, I had a loud clink type noise at highway speeds or steady rpm over 2400 and only in warm weather (70+). Racked my brain for months thinking and tinkering. I was convinced it was in the EVAP somewhere. I noticed a loud pop or clink noise behind my head one time. It dawned on me that it could be the damn non OEM, brittle/split o-ringed gas cap. Swapped an OEM one over from a Cruiser and sure enough, never heard that noise again. Crazy.

Repurposed some damaged door bug screen. My dog did not appreciate the bug screens and ripped them off after 1 week. I hate wasting material so I re used the peel and stick velcro and trimmed the screen to fit my flip up windows. Looks sorta clean and really functional. These Texas mosquitos suck! No pun intended

Following the guide for the Big 3 upgrade, I fabricated and installed my own wiring harness. I was surprised to see the stock positive starter cable was already 2-gauge, but I replaced it anyway since I had already bought the new material. The rest of the cables got upgraded to larger size. The only thing I think I did wrong was the lower cable coming out of the fuse box I left unconnected. I thought running a wire from the alternator to the battery and from the battery and to the upper post in the fuse box would be sufficient. I'll pull it into the fuse box tomorrow and hook it up to the post as the guide suggests. Total project time: 5 hours. I wasn't in a hurry and I've never done anything on the electrical before so I took my time with it.

I removed the rear fender flares, wheel well liners and mud flaps. I took pictures off all the extra stuff for eBay. I put together a parts number list of clips and misc crapperware that I'll need when the bed swap goes down. I canceled my order for all the parts I placed earlier in the week when they started requesting a VIN. I'll just order this shit locally and maybe they'll throw in a Toyota Jan cardboard cut out
