I found this thread where the OP has a '99 and he was able to read his trans temps with a scangauge2. This suggests it is possible.

If you can wait until Friday I can get that info for you. Won’t be near my truck until then.

It’s on stock suspension. For now.

IIRC (and I am old so take it with a grain of salt) when I first got my truck it measured ~21". I couldn't find it written down but it seemed like it was 21 in front and 21.5 in back. The truck had 36K on it at the time so likely pre-sag.

Sweet, so someone found the memory address... that's what those Xgauge codes are. Well that saves a lot of work for lots of folks. 95-97 im sure are right up there with fully mechanical calculator in terms of features so those probably don't have an internal address that is accessible from the OBDII bus. Now if only my damn land cruiser had a real trans temp monitor and not a dummy light hooked to a temp switch.

Do you only need rear measurements? My rear suspension is pretty (extremely) clapped out but it is 21years stock.

Not many, but don't the leafs get replaced with the frame replacements. I'm sure there's a few stock height 1st gens rolling around with good leafs.

    I'm in no hurry.

Sounding like that's close based on the few I've hard now.

    Yeah, just rear.

This method is likely as close as you will get to (newish) stock height numbers. I bought my truck new and it was pretty close. It will still take some extrapolation. But it's a start.
You are spot on about "communication" with a custom spring builder.

You got it, I'll measure hub to fender and the way @Dirty Pool mentioned and pass it along, I'll do passenger side because it is less saggy.

Just to muddy the pool some more, before I put my new springs on recently, my front measured 19.5" & 20" (d/p sides) and the rear was about 21.5". But those are with 189K miles and clearly not babied. Them bitches were soft.

I'd give you my measurements before installing the OME suspension but the stock suspension had 182,000 miles on it at the time :notsure:

Not sure how much difference there is either. :notsure:

Seems like the common measurement is 21.5", so that's close enough for me. Just measured, and I'm sitting at 25.5" right now with my (broken) bastard pack. So need to get that amount, or slightly more, out of the new pack.

As far as I know, this is completely normal. Mine does it almost every morning. It shifts into 2nd fine, then revs up to about 2500 rpm in 2nd and holds it there for several seconds, sometimes longer and then drops into 3rd.
