Following the Ultimate Headlight Upgrade (not LED or HID) thread I had already purchased and installed the Upgrade Headlamp Harness from Susquehanna MotorSports and was waiting on the 100/90W OSRAM Super Bright Premium High Wattage Headlight Bulbs from PowerBulbs in the UK which finally arrived. Installed just the driver's side bulb and waited until nightfall to see the difference. Not amazing but it is noticeable. Not yet sure if $200 worth of noticeable but it is better so.... First pic the new bulb box (duh), 2nd pic low beams, 3rd high beams. Passenger bulb is a relatively new Philips 9003 60/55W bulb which is the standard. I must add that both Susquehanna and PowerBulbs were great to work with and $15/ea for the bulbs and free shipping (a bit slow but) was great.

Manual said it can be towed in Neutral on all four wheels for less than 30 miles, I only drove it around the block at less than 20 miles an hour.

I made it back! I am really impressed with how the truck handled, it wasn't as bad as I expected.

Don't worry I read the manual before I did it, said I can tow it in neutral for up to 30 miles.

I only drove it around the block, nothing too crazy.

Oh what a strange number, well that's cool. Good on Mercedes too for even giving a flat tow spec

Can't believe how heavy that car is compared to the Civic. It's 3,800 pounds versus the Civic's curb weight of 2,875.

It's funny the Mercedes has a higher towing capacity than the Tacoma. Think it's 5.5k pounds for the EU spec.

The 2011 Tahoe my family uses for hauling our trailer has a 5.3L V8, robust 6L80E transmission with factory cooler and added extra cooler plus full trailer brake compatibility, yet only has 5,200lbs towing capacity and tows way shittier than my Land Cruiser towing the same load. I really don't get how they come up with the ratings some times.

My Taco doesn't have the power for that trailer or I'd try it too to compare but it did fine around 4K when I moved furniture 350mi.

I was considering it until I realized how hard it is to find a tow hitch for a German luxury car in America, I'd have to import one from Europe. Towing with sedans over there is much more common than it is here. All the ones I could find for sale here are Class 1 or Class 2.

The U.S. spec'd car is not even rated to tow, I had to dig up the EU spec manual to find the towing capacities.

I let mine hit 3/8 up the temp gauge before rolling. It keeps the trans from winding out and wont hold it in 2nd gear. Plus your windows are defrosted by then, so you dont hit a 2 or 4 legged deer.

Wow a 5,300 pound towing capacity for a v8 SUV? That really surprises me.

Would you believe that the 403HP Escalade we had prior could only muster 6600lbs. I guess they save all the towing capacity for the pickups and vans.

I swear it's just the U.S. being anal about towing capacity.

Here was that page in the Mercedes manual about the flat towing, which was interesting. I was surprised it was a RWD, thought it was a FWD all these years.

Saabs always had a lower tow rating in the US than in Europe for identically equipped models.

More cars are capable of towing that I thought.

The guy I rented the tow dolly from brought it to his work with a Nissan Leaf, I was driving in San Francisco the other day and saw someone towing a cargo trailer with a Toyota Prius o_O

Did you add in the relay harness to? That's an important part of the upgrade

So is the $125 wiring harness I bought from Susquehanna MotorSports and installed (the one mentioned in the Ultimate Headlight Upgrade thread in my original post's 1st sentence) something different from the "relay harness" you mention?

Sorry missed the harness part. I wouldn't think there would be any difference.

The place was where all good Toyotas go when they die - only to be reborn. Thx again for the tour.
