I think some of the early models with 4-cylinder autos had a 4.56 option.

There's one on offer up but I'm concerned it's really 4.30. Plus it's vacuum assist and wouldn't have those been manual / non-ADD?

Not 100% sure, but I think the early models had a vacuum assist for both manual and ADD. You would probably want to know exactly what vehicle it came out of to ensure compatibility/gear ratio, etc.

lol I wouldn't want vacuum garbage if the diff came without it. It's ADD / has vacuum assist but if I get it that will be locked out.

Thanks for the info guys. Much cheaper than a regear if it is in fact 4.56.

Much higher quality gears too, heat treated and hardened from the factory.

So pinion spins 4.56 times for every axle rotation?

If it’s an open diff, 4.56 times for every two axle rotations.

ARB with factory gears would be pretty bulletproof, as long as you’re quick at changing CVs

Cvs won't be an issue lol it's the diff I'm thinking will be the weak link. Getting the solo 4340 axles. Paul at Solo recommended a trutrac in the front but I'm thinking arb.

ARB will definitely be the way to go then, those spider gears won’t stand a chance with upgraded axles otherwise.
You’re right, the diff will be the weak link, but it’ll be the actual housing that’ll break first.
