No i never sprayed the handle itself. But im sure that helps. I felt a massive improvement just doing what i did above. Felt brand new.

Picked up the tow dolly this morning, practiced towing my E320 W210 around. I was surprised how well the truck handled considering the E320 and dolly weights 1,100 more than the 3,500 pound 2.7l payload capacity.

That being said I won't be towing the Benz, the Honda Civic I'm picking up is about 1,000 pounds lighter.

This is going to be interesting...

I also when i first did this put in a brand new OEM handle. So didn't see the need to hit the handle itself. But after hitting the spots I did in the photos i posted. I was so blown away i did it to the passenger side too and it did the same thing. Was impressive how different it felt. Be interesting to hear if just doing the mechanism makes a difference.

Don't drag that car around with the drive wheels on the ground. It'll eat your transmission

How did you get it set right? My driver's door or fender isn't quite right so I can't figure out a good way to get a baseline for where one should be haha.

Good on ya for getting a feel for it beforehand. But please tell me you didn't go more than a mile or two with the Merc, unless it's driveshaft is removed it won't be too happy about getting pulled without being lubed if ya know what I mean.

All nooks & crannies now upgraded with Dog Hair!
Following the Ultimate Headlight Upgrade (not LED or HID) thread I had already purchased and installed the Upgrade Headlamp Harness from Susquehanna MotorSports and was waiting on the 100/90W OSRAM Super Bright Premium High Wattage Headlight Bulbs from PowerBulbs in the UK which finally arrived. Installed just the driver's side bulb and waited until nightfall to see the difference. Not amazing but it is noticeable. Not yet sure if $200 worth of noticeable but it is better so.... First pic the new bulb box (duh), 2nd pic low beams, 3rd high beams. Passenger bulb is a relatively new Philips 9003 60/55W bulb which is the standard. I must add that both Susquehanna and PowerBulbs were great to work with and $15/ea for the bulbs and free shipping (a bit slow but) was great.

Manual said it can be towed in Neutral on all four wheels for less than 30 miles, I only drove it around the block at less than 20 miles an hour.

I made it back! I am really impressed with how the truck handled, it wasn't as bad as I expected.

Don't worry I read the manual before I did it, said I can tow it in neutral for up to 30 miles.

I only drove it around the block, nothing too crazy.

Oh what a strange number, well that's cool. Good on Mercedes too for even giving a flat tow spec

Can't believe how heavy that car is compared to the Civic. It's 3,800 pounds versus the Civic's curb weight of 2,875.

It's funny the Mercedes has a higher towing capacity than the Tacoma. Think it's 5.5k pounds for the EU spec.
