Like I said. 2-3 days minimum haha especially if you're trying to do a good write up. Or you'll give up on that and just work haha

It is a 4 banger because I’m pretty sure the tailgate says sr5 v6 if it is.

I use a couple coalescing air filters and water separator, I haven't had any problems with water even in the summer. If you want more detail let me know.

For real though, I always intend to do write ups but instead I get caught up working and don't wanna get sidetracked. Then I just take pics at major breaks haha

I forgot from yesterday before I could hook up my coolant hoses, I had to partake in some damage control on my heater core. Apparently channel locks are only good for main radiator hoses and there are better tools for the others such as picks, razor blades for hoses that will be replaced, and these:

So to make my heater core exit tube more rounder again I made a special service tool out of a 1/2" drive extension and some grease:

It worked well enough to make the tube 99% round again after it was more of a thick pancake.

Not much today other than continuing the undercarriage makeover to the rear axle. Mostly what I wanted to do when the driveshaft and exhaust were off.

Gave my truck the worst wash in the time that vehicles have been getting washed since there was wet paint on the bottom - but something had to be done since I'm out of town for a week and it's becoming an eyesore. It's in my neighbor's carport and I was getting uncomfortable about how dirty it was after a five inch streak of bird poop ran down the back window of my camper shell. I don't know if I made it better or worse lol. Hopefully at least a little better.

Just the standard paint maintenance I'd assume. Regular wash and wax then a Polish and wax once/twice a year.

I'm actually going to bring my truck to a reputable detail shop here and have them do a paint restore on it. See if it helps.

Black is the worst color to show any bad body work. Every wrinkle, ding, etc will show. Also shows dust and dirt the most. But a black vehicle looks good when done right and all cleaned and shined! When I need to repaint, I'm considering quicksand, perhaps even with a rhino type finish!

I got tired around 2 AM and went to sleep. So far I have the nerf bars removed, the skid plates removed, the driver's side steering Knuckle, and I was halfway done with the passenger side. Working on getting the driveshaft off now.

Nerf bars? Why did you have to remove those?

Are you going to try and drop the Trans and TC by yourself? Dude, seriously, be careful. Are you using a transmission jack?

Yeah he has a tranny jack with safety strap. Hard part will be lifting them on and off the jack to swap em out I think. Even with a manual I had trouble trying to deadlift that thing.

Oh I have a fully adjustable transmission jack and an engine hoist so no problem there.

Nerf bars I'm getting rid off because I want real sliders.

Good idea on the engine hoist, didn't even think to use mine for that, hell last thing I did with it was lift the front of the hulk of the green truck to get it on the wrecking truck haha. 5 more pounds and I would have had to lift the tranny and t case with it I think, shits heavy

Engine hoist is how I even got the damn thing off the truck. Shits heavy!

They loaded it with a forklift in Reno.
