You'll need to disassemble the leaf pack and cycle it with a jack, just with the main leaf attached. Or load up a shit ton of weight in the bed so you can flex it out completely on a big rock. Some people also use a forklift if you have access to one.

Keyboard suggestions aren't website specific, they're app specific, you'd have issues on other sites as well. When was the last time you purged the cache for chrome or your keyboard.

Well you won't want to have shocks on it while you're cycling. But yeah, get the springs on, fully compress, measure from shock mount to mount, then fully droop and measure again.

ah ok now i get it. otherwise the shocks would apply resistance and want to rebound the leaf spring from cycling

I don’t know if any of you remembe my carrier bearing issue, but I had the mechanic guy look at my drive line and he said there’s a little play in the pinion bearing, I don’t even known if this is a real thing or if it would affect that.

    What say you?

Yes, and if the shocks aren't the right size they wouldn't allow it to fully droop or compress. And then if you didn't know those measurements that you'll get are going to be what you'll use to when you look for the right shocks, you'll want your measurements to be as close as possible to the fully extended (droop) and the fully compressed lengths of the shocks.

I feel like I annoy him (everyone) most the time, and that he’ll probably see it anyway.

better hope not. That'd be a full diff rebuild.

Not super common for those to go out unless you've messed with the diff.

Also the pinion bearing wouldn't make your carrier bearing warm. I forgot to but i'll try and see what mine is like when i get home. The carrier bearing moves by design. Its a bearing that is encased in big rubber bushing.

I just didn’t know if the movement would be amplified (right word?) when driving.

Somewhere in the bearing there has to be something rubbing some where. I don’t know what would cause it to get warm.

    Everything’s torqued correctly also.

only thing i can think of to cause your bearing to get warm is not enough grease.

any play in a pinion is bad. Just a ticking time bomb before the diff explodes. If in fact it out of spec.

carrier bearing is a sealed bearing. No way to grease it.
