What grade bolt is a standard bolt? Every decent grade bolt has a shear strength in psi. That is rated at the shank not threads. So if part a didnt machine a counter sunk hole to incorporate the shank of the bolt or has no sleeve. Referring to bad surface milling and aftermarket bolts. Thus then the rated spec doesn' apply to that bolt. Also the more you 'e tq a bolt the more it stretches and the weaker it gets in shear and tensile strength. Have you checked McCaster Carr or the Bolt Depote?[/QUOTE]

no advantage to tundra ball joints. They are the same as ours in terms of the joint. Thats what sucks about that gen of tundra. Basically a tacoma just wider and a v8. Vs the 2nd gen tacoma and 2nd gen tundra where they can retro fit a 2nd gen tundra steering rack to a 2nd gen tacoma for a serious upgrade.

Im not sure what spec the stock lbj bolts are. not 10.9 though I think. Its not common to shear them. What is common is one or two will fall out and then the other 2 will shear. Other common failure is the joint itself separating.

@Speedytech7 i really hope you were drunk last night. Swapping a blower from a mini van instead of a turbo..wtf.

Somehow I just knew you'd pipe up about it too.
Fact is it's a bigger SC than the little Eaton M62 on the 3.4 and it's fed by piping rather than bolted to a plenum or head. So really it's a pretty cheap option for boost and all you need are mounts for it and 4cyls have plenty of room to mount it.

Didn't come with one..found that out this week..

It won't be cheaper and it'll be a pita.

I suspect much regret in future of not going turbo from the get go

I don't see how it could get to $2700 dollars. I have metal to make mounts and the SC comes with the piping. Really all I'd need to buy would be a new belt and a length of wire to hook of the electric clutch, maybe a silicone couple or two.

It's something to pass the time, still gonna turbo (I like the sounds) and if this works I don't think I'll have problems selling it off to someone else. There's nothing even complicated about it, literally just needs mounts and a wire, I'm thinking as a fun project I'll aim to keep it under $500 for parts and materials. That way if it doesn't work it's no big deal

Picked up a JL Stealth Box - they usually runs $600 new for $100 off OfferUp. Can't believe I found one used.

I was a little sketchy since it was in a ghetto part of Oakland... so I took the E320 in case someone wanted to car jack me. LOL.

There's a nice Whole Foods down the street. I guess that makes up for it haha.

I expect EVs to do everything a little slower since that increases their range. But hybrids? Your shit is just as fuel efficient cruising as the Civic that is passing you going the speed limit. Stop hypermiling.
