Good point. I didn’t let it warm up yet, that reading was taken after about 30 seconds of the engine idling from cold.

Damn, I rolled my 95 with a very large rack - afterwards the 2 bed sides were bent both towards the driver’s side an 1” plus at the top. I put a come-along to the bed hooks, attached to a tree and lifted the truck off its wheels trying to straighten it - no luck. Can’t imagine what one would have done to get cracks like you have!

I’m going to need a new battery soon. My three year old Duralast is starting to show corrosion at the Battery posts.

    Those Optimas look pretty good.

Pick-n-pull. I threw a used battery in my 5-lug for $40 and it hasn’t died on me yet even if it sits for a week or two.

Meanwhile, my brand new $140 Walmart Battery I put in my Civic doesn’t hold a charge anymore. It loses charge after one day.

did you check your choke? oh wait, you’re not me & this isn’t a Honda Rebel. For 2 months I couldn’t figure out why the idle was so high and I couldn’t adjust it down on the carb any more. Finally my dad pointed out the choke was on, not off. sad, but true story. think I’ll look for some blinker fluid on Ebay during the flash sale! :D

the only thing to add... at least on older vehicles or maybe standalone tachs, there was an adjustment for 4, 6 or 8 cylinder engines.

Unfortunately with these clusters you can’t really adjust them. The engine displacement is printed on the flexible circuit board.

When I bought my ‘03, the battery would always go dead. The previous owner had some aftermarket stereo in it with a DVD player. While gutting about 20 pounds of monster cables he had in it... I put in 2 toggles - 1 to the always hot, and 1 to the “on” of the stereo. Stopped that “vampire drainage”.

Can’t say my $200+ redtop battery was all that great I put in it. Kicking myself that I didn’t 3 yr warranty it - as I see the purchase everytime I order more parts from Advanced at year 4. :|

Well just got the truck from the mechanic so he could fix my loose transmission. I still have that squeal when I let the clutch out. So buying a new clutch and throw out bearing (insert choice words of frustration)......oh well part of the game eh :)

Just lots of rough roads over 18 years. It has spent a good portion of those 18 years off paved roads. I run a topper on it (see my avatar) and I suspect it adds stress on the bed as well.

Whatever you do, stay away from Costco. The Interstate batts Costco peddles always seem to leak.

Funny you should say this, my fiancé texted me this morning right when I got into work that her car wouldn't start. I ran back home, popped the hood and saw that her Costco Interstate battery (only 2 years old) had a ton of leakage around the terminals. Jump started it and it ran fine but it won't hold a charge now, has to be jump started every time. Picked her up a new battery going to put it in tonight

I hope you changed the fuild soon after.

Thats all it does is break down the fluid and destory's it....then your tranny dies.

Early tacos with v6s have a high idle warm up. Both mine do that.

Interesting. Wonder why it only affected early tacos.

anyone know the grade or torque spec when only using 1 bolt out of 4 for the transmission mount? Maybe that’s what the extra bolts were when I bought it! Is it grade infinity & beyound? :D

On a good note, just finished 2nd primer coat on most of the frame behind the front cab mounts.
