I'm just going to say that I paid what it cost for quality work. Soon as numbers are thrown out people start bickering about how their cousin Ed can do it for cheaper. I was able to cash flow the entire repaint and rebuild, but in the end this made no economic sense.

What was the extent of the prep work? What kind of paint as used, dual stage, etc?

all i know is my guys helping me on the price... but god damn is quality bodywork expensive (i need a floor pan and some other things done too on top of the paint though, and hes pulling the windshield and rear window... going to try and order an OEM windshield because these aftermarket ones all have fucking waves in them)

I had the front and rear glass pulled for the respray. That part I didn't want to bother with. I considered buying an OEM windshield, but opted for a PGW aftermarket.

The paint is PPG two stage and some areas of the truck were taken to bare metal like the hood. The hood had a lot of rock chips. The doors and left front fender are new OEM Toyota.

yup my guys using PPG two stage. got 2 new doors.. trying to find a used 4runner sport hood, im going to have him graft the hood scoop into my original hood... because i think it'll look cool.. and i'll be replacing the driver side bed side due to botched previous repair work...

I did pickup some 3M cavity wax and a wand kit. These doors are getting sprayed right after I put some dynamat in them. I'm not going heavy on the dynamat just one or two pieces.

Tyler... You know we give you shit because we like you, right?

Besides... leaving that rake on your truck is just askin for it... lol. We all know you'll get your truck sorted out. But we HAVE to give you shit up until the moment you get the lift finished :D:thumbsup:

@BartMaster1234 From the company. I guess the fact that no insurance claim was ever filed is why title is clear. That's what the salvage yard manager told me.

@BYJOSHCOOK Redneck body work in progress... I just mainly use the tractor for an anchor, but sometimes do some pulling with it. Chain binder does the real pulling. I am definitely not a professional at this type work. Just too cheap to pay anybody.

Made decent progress. Had to quit and go running. Half marathon in 2 weeks.

Got parts ordered tonight. Between Rock Auto and Amazon, I am at $774. I was hoping to stay under $700,, so not too bad.

Hoping to finish all straightening tomorrow. Then waiting..... for parts.

If you're looking to do a front end "re-build"... You're already doing a lot of it with your UCAs and LBJs.

Might want to replace LCA bushings with WhiteLines while you're in there. I replaced my sway bar end links and sway bar bushings (I intend to keep the sway bar, I'll take it off for wheeling trips, but my Taco is my daily driver and I'd rather have it on for daily use). I also replaced my inner and outer tie rods (turns out, when I got in there, my inners were thrashed.) I figured outers might as well get done while I was in there. I also replaced the rack bushings with Energy Suspension bushings.

And if you need an extra set of hands... come to one of our mod days in the 209... I can probably get you 4 or 5 extra sets of hands.

We haven't started talking about another one officially, but @CalTacoma09 and @foxrcing07 just did a spur of the moment mod day for @roguegs a couple weekends ago lol.

I'm pretty sure we can get something going relatively quickly. I do my best at making my garage available to my Taco buddies when ever I can... We can probably even talk my wife in to cooking us up some good food.

With that said. It's currently hunting season, so wish me luck on killing a buck and a bear quickly so my weekends aren't blocked off with me being in the woods wondering around aimlessly with my rifle and backpack.
