So you won't weld your bumper, but you trust your life to that seat?

its difficult, but practice makes good. (not perfect) lol. . . . I borrowed my dads Miller 2 weeks ago. I was welding nuts to the frame since my self drilling bolts kept stripping. man, I had a helluva time. my welds sucked at first, but got better as I progressed. I originally had the gun to close. I do gotta say, its fun and addicting. I fixed my fence while I was at it. haha

fuck what people think. Welder looks good man. your pretty busy with that horn thing you have going on too. so what if you haven't used it. (or your truck for that matter) I think my truck is over kill too. I use it once or twice a month for adventures. M-F she takes me to the office while I'm in a suit and tie. lol

God no. I scrapped the whole Lexus ES300 seat idea. Too much effort for minimal return.

I dont see any break tests? I couldnt find the pics of my Tig break test coupons so heres some bumper porn. 24 volts out of a Miller 252. 0525181056.jpg 0525181057.jpg
Dont worry, I cleaned up those holes in the hitch receiver gusset. I just blasted them out with the oxy/fuel torch to get them done quick as I built this bumper at work over 2 30 min lunch breaks.

Upgraded the alternator today. I think the valve cover leak from last year aided in the demise of the regulator.

I have had many sleepless nights in anticipation of bending my coupons. I felt worse after failing some of those tests than I have felt over failing any other test. It legit gave me anxiety if I had a bend test coming up. It took about 3 or 4 hours for me to weld up an open root Tig plate test so if I failed, it was a ton of time wasted, and my school would make you weld out a plate completely even if you failed the visual inspection on the root pass. It was a no BS welding class tought by a no BS instructor. Walked in a boy, came out a man. 1004182125.jpg
Those are from the 2 tests I passed. 2G and 3G out of position GTAW. Never took any other welding courses as I learned I didnt want to make a career of it. Still ended up doing some mig welding for a family friend's company. That made me want to persue Industrial maintenance and Mechatronics.

Yes James, you are 100x better at welding than me.

I wasn’t lucky enough to have welding class at my high school.

Told ya, buy a truck, be an independent welder, make $$$.

They make 100k where I’m at I can only image what they make in Texas.

Or you can go work on a well and make 80k right out of school.

Or you can go to school, get an education and come out with a useable degree and make decent money, and pay off all your school debt
