What’s the status on your ‘95 Single Cab? I remember you buying it, but haven’t seen any updates.

 

The more you poke, the better of a chance I will do it.

 

Not much. Just been driving it to work.

Fixed the fan switch in it. Going to put a new wiper switch in soon. About it. Need to put in the motor mounts I have and probably a clutch in the next 6 months.

Drive it every day though. Love it.

I've been to Zuk's shop/house a few times. Interesting shop setup to say the least. It's the front room of his house. His assembly bench faces looking out the front picture window. It's defiantly clean and climate controlled. Also stacks of new gears in boxes and parts on shelves. He only works on Toyota differentials. I asked him were the name "Zuk" came from one day. He said back in the day when everyone was going with "TOY" on the back of their trucks. He was driving a tricked out Suzuki Samari. He named his rig "ZUK" from then on he was Zuk.

 

How did you cut the exhaust so nicely? After my lift, my exhaust rubbed the shackle badly so I had to cut the tip off 8” with my sawzall. Made a hell of a rough cut and took forever.

Which is weird, because I helped my buddy strip a Ford Ranger and I used that same Sawzall to cut the exhaust into pieces. Might have been the blade possibly.

 

Yeah, the superbumps looked a whole lot easier to drill a hole in the necessary location. The Durobumps have a larger footprint and would have been a lot more complicated to make work.

 

I used a sawzall with a new blade.

 

That’s cool, I didn’t know you daily drove it. Your other two trucks are just wheeling rigs, as I understand?

You keeping that truck stock, what’re your plans for it?

 

He is a super nice guy. He sent me this email this morning, out of the blue. He will definitely have my business when I do regear.

 

It looks good. How much of it did you chop off?

 

I had him install my True trac and it came out nice. That type of work isn't worth taking chances with DIY or giving it to people that have no experience with Toyota diffs

 

That cut was made just above the top of the leaf pack. The exhaust is still completely stock so just the portion that hung down under the leafs and I removed the hanger bracket from the frame. You can see the cut off portion in the lower left of this pic.

 

Igor gets driven here and there to work as needed. Try to keep the miles off him though, at 220k already. Thats almost 20k this year..

Not a lot of plans. Just refine it, would be fun to boost some day but rather build the others first.

I removed the spare tire mount things from under the bed. Would have taken the winch thing out too but the bolts can't be removed without either removing the bed or unbolting the whole crossmember that it's attached to and I wasn't that motivated at the time.

 

False! You just need the right tools aka ratcheting wrenches. Mine was broken when I first got my truck and got a new one and was able to get it out and the new one on. It was a PITA but still doable with enough patience

 

I cut mine off with a hack saw. Lol.
