They say it is, but it must have had some bad buildup because a new one fixed her right up. I keep meaning to take the time and pull the injectors to have them cleaned and flow tested, but I need to get the Z running before I pull it apart again

Does either one leak out of the valve cover gaskets at all? If the valve plugs up, it'll start pushing oil past the gaskets.

How are valve covers not in your wheelhouse, you changed a timing belt, thats much more work

V/C gaskets arent bad, just time consuming. Honestly ive never had a PCV go bad on a toyota. but theyre cheap so might as well replace it

much bigger opportunity to fuckup timing an engine than changing VC, just the valve train is exposed anyway, not much you can do there to mess it up, just dont leave a socket in there or something

ive seen more issues from people leaving towels in the intake ports when doing v/c gaskets instead of anything actually in the engine being a problem lol

toyota 4.7l engines are fun... we had a tech get the mark on the crank 1 tooth off. needless to say he had to replace and engine for free

mitsubishi is fun. theres 2 timing belts. and oil pumps have to be in the right spot because theyre also balance shafts.. theres no easy way to know if theyre right.

I guess I actually have around four if you count the distributor, I have to do it from the beginning because I disassembled the whole engine. But they basically give you zero excuse to do it wrong, line up all the marks, they tell you how many teeth to count off on the belt in between everything, and they even tell you how to find TDC without any of the tools haha

mitsu and some ford timing belts are literal hell. i forget which engine but ford has an engine that you HAVE to lock the crank and cams before removing the belt or you WILL bend valves

I know you have to lock them on the Duratec V6 when you remove a chain to do the waterpump or it'll snap em

Eh it's not that bad, at least both those engines make big power easily. You learn good skills working on them
