Supposedly the rack and pinion as well as the drivers side inner toe rod are bad on my truck and Firestone refused to align it but I’m skeptical since they gave me two other reasons prior as to why they couldn’t align it. Anyways I plan to look at it myself and determine if it needs replaced. I’m sure the bushings aren’t in great shape after 270k either so if I end up swapping it I’ll be putting in the ES kit.

Any suggestions on rack and pinions? I found this Cardone Select one that has a lifetime warranty https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/toyota,1996,tacoma,3.4l+v6,1278930,steering,rack+and+pinion,7388

Not sure how they could really decipher a bad itr if they're saying the rack is bad. You might be able to tighten the steering rack guide bushing and eliminate play in the rack. I had the lock nut on mine come loose and the bushing loosened up and caused some slop.

OEM is the only way unless you enjoy replacing your steering rack every 20k.

Sooo did some work, not on my taco, but for taco. Built a tiny work bench that I can sit my laptop or random shit on while wrenching on Ronda (so named because she's burgundy colored...). Garage is small so with two vehicles plus storage on the side walls I don't have much room for a legit work bench, but this will do.

    IMG_20181222_163152.jpg IMG_20181222_163202.jpg

Rhonda has to park in front of the door due to a steel pillar that's cemented into the floor to protect the water heater and furnace on the other side of the garage, otherwise I could park the shorter subaru there instead and fit a real bench. #smalltwocargarageproblems

I already made a forum about this but figured I might have better luck getting some help on here.

I'm trying to figure out how to remove this clip that holds the cam position sensor on. The clip is important because it keeps wires out of the timing belt so I really don't want to break it.

Dude what’s up with SDHQ off-road? Do they always take a long time to ship? I’ve emailed a few times with no response

I noticed a lot of these companies going down in quality lately. I ordered a ditch light bracket from CBI and it didn’t come with the required new hardware, or any instructions. Also took them a week to actually ship it.

Oh for this time of the year I’m totally not surprised. Just influx of orders during the holidays. It’s expected.

That is a long delay though.
