I really like my scangauge for this task. Way more accurate than the silly gas gauge.

10.6 volts sounds like a new battery is in your future.

I just hit the knuckle with a torch for a min or so then tap the knuckle with a mallet and the OTR comes right out

Works pretty good for the lower ball joint too. Although they separate pretty violently. But it saves the boot.

I was quoted around $300 but found out my insurance covered it. It was a creeping crack that started in my passenger side corner. I got out for $0

BTW, I ruined my left OTR. :anonymous:.

I usually use medium heat, then back the castle nut up until it is flush with the top of the threads, give it a few firm hits, and they drop out w/o damage. Right side fell out w/o using the separator.

Left side was the tightest one I have ever removed. I heated the knuckle area around it more than usual, beat the hell out of the tool until it was fully inserted, and ended up having to hit directly on top of the stud to get it out.

...Finally, we spotted the main wash through the canyon. Still a half mile or more away, it was clear to us at this point that we were likely to have a problem - the wash, which had been completely dry the day before, was a rushing river, all the washes we'd passed so far feeding into it...

It was muddy and we had a quarter mile of wash to drive through...

I haven't been able to get my scangauge to show me fuel level or DTE on my 99. Did you need to change any of the parameters on it?

On our trucks, it's not reading a PID to determine this info, it's calculating it based on fuel level and the amount of fuel currently flowing through the injectors. To get it to work, you have to configure a few extra things in the ScanGauge at the beginning, and then fill-up in a certain way (and log the fill-up in the SG):
    1. Initial config: First, you have to tell the SG the size of your fuel tank. This in Home > More > Setup > Tank Size
    2. Next, you have to let the SG know when you last filled up, and how much fuel you put in. That's covered in the manual (https://www.scangauge.com/download/1271/) on page 20 and 31. Essentially, you have to calibrate it to the size of your tank, and then you always have to fill up completely so it can monitor the tank "from full to empty."

Thanks. I have been doing this and set the tank size when I first got the scangauge. Guess I'll have to go back into the settings and confirm that I did it correctly.

Anyone using Torque have erroneous fuel level readings? I've tried a handful of things to get it dialed but it always seems to be way off

Looked in the Sale forums but saw only generation-specific forums or non-auto-related so I'll post this here for starts.

Now that I decided on the ARB compressor kit I need to get rid of the 1st pile o'stuff I bought. The Dual compressor, the pump up kit which is the 20-foot special hose and all the attachments to blow up tires and other items, and the ARB tire inflator which is the integrated digital tire pressure gauge and relief valve. Everything new and in box. Was a bit over $600, $550 cash for TW folks. I am driving from Orinda, CA to LA tomorrow and would be happy to hand deliver this to anyone interested along the way. Please let me know ASAP.
