I had a bad clunk/shift in the driveline that would happen with my truck almost every time I shifted gears especially under heavy load, I found that the trans mount bolt needed almost a full turn to get it tight and it seemed to take care of that issue. If you have a manual trans, I'm not sure if the mount is the same for the auto but it might be.

Tundra hyper-silver double 5-spokes with 265-70-17 BFG All-Terrains. Compact Cobra CB in the ashtray slot. Cut a small hole in the plastic and mounted the antenna to the drivers side windshield wiper mount using an old Harley Davidson blinker bracket. 1 1/4" drywall screw is holding door handle together nicely.
I managed to give google street view a peace sign.... I wonder how long until it's googlable

In Costa Rica if you give em a peace sign they give you 2 Tacos.

I’m automatic, but I’m going to check the torque in the trans mount and crossmemeber just as a precaution...even though I know I double and triple checked it when I did the install.

yeah sometimes they just need to be torqued again after driving around awhile, can't hurt to rule them out anyway.

I'm going to have to try this. I replaced 2 of my u-joints, greased slip yoke and my CB seems fine. But I still get a clunk every time I shift 1-4 gear or left off the gas in 1-3 gear

yeah it bugged the crap out of me for over a year, I greased my u-joints and slip yoke probably to the point of over-greasing them thinking that had to be the issue...until I tightened that big bolt on the trans mount and it seems to have taken care of it.

Anyone do a cv reboot with the SDHQ boots? If so what grease did you use?

Love those boots. I use whatever is on the shelf for grease.

weird thing is those boots don't need clamps. I still added some for peace of mind

I've done a mod or two
Harrison, but Denso will be fine, TYC has been good in mine. I'm not sold on the Champion alum one cause it only seems to fit half as well as any other option

Did you do the boot slide mod? Or should I not worry about it

You can order this grease I believe. It’s what comes with Toyota’s reboot kits

Checked the torque on everything related to the drive shaft, everything appeared to be good. Couldn’t get to all the bolts attaching the differential to the trans, but the trans to trans mount, mount to crossmember, and crossmemeber to frame were all good. Only thing I found was the carrier bearing appears to be shot. I could move it roughly 1/2”.
