You need to identify what you want out of your ride first. More or less rebound or compression. Then the range/shaft speed it occurs at. That will help you at least explain it to someone who can tell you what your shim stack needs

Yep, always been a no brainer to me plus you can touch up any rust spots and easily clean/inspect the inside. Of course all done with a grounding clip lead to the tank and "No Smoking".

Yes as long as you leave it in 4wd. For the chain to be loose enough to jump it would be generating all sorts of other complaints. Good way to take it out of the equation though.

Started working on the rear bumper today and ran into some issues. Have an email out to Coastal to see if they have any ideas before I start making things work. Have a few ideas of what to do but want to see what Coastal thinks first.

My marks ended up at 6 and 9 when I pulled back in the garage after climbing a snow bank with the front locked. Both started at 6. Kept it in 4x4 the whole time.

Poked around with an endoscope and didnt notice any teeth missing anywhere.

I'm not sure if these are more rounded than they should be. It only does it under a heavy load. No abnormal noises just driving down the street in 4wd.

It's not fitting correctly. I'm wondering if maybe the 98-00 trucks are bastardized compared to the earlier or later gen 1s. I think maybe they designed the bumper on a 01-04 truck and the rear frame is a little different.

The rear frames are all the same to my knowledge. But they tweak super easy so you might have misalignment from that. Unless they sent you a 4runner part, in which case yeah none of that will work

Nope, it's not tweaked in that it's not lining up. Maybe the 4Runner pieces are more likely then. The side plates are fine, it's the bottom plates that bolt to the frame where the issue is, they are sticking out too far.

Had my wiper up and forgot about it. Then went to lift the hood, felt some resistance, just kept going like I always do before I break something. Ended up taking a good bit of paint on the edge of a newly painted hood.....

Well, if it's jumping it's jumping. Flanges themselves OK?

I have a Vair instead of ARB but I mounted it on the same passenger fenderwell and moved the cruise forward, closer to the air box. Actually, almost right against it.

Kelly TSRs are great, had them in 285/75/16. Too bad they are nearly extinct.

Figured this was the best thread to ask since it gets the most traffic. I'll have the opportunity to purchase the family tacoma in a couple of years and am trying to get a ballpark figure on how much cash I should save to buy it. It's a v6 2003 double cab pre runner with e-locker and about 100k miles. I'd say it's in good shape with just a couple small dents and couple small spots of rust near the driver door sill

I guess that is another possibility, the flange slipping on the splines. If I'm bored I'll crack it open and check things out someday.

Put a tcase in from a 95 and it solved my problem. There is an additional sensor on mine that needed swapped and I swapped the other sensor as the 95 had a different plug. Speed sensors need to be swapped as well. Pretty straight forward swap.

$10k. It's a prerunner. If it is due for a timing belt replacement (recommended interval is 90k) then $8k.
