What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Ordering up parts for my top end job, someone mentioned replacing the hoses are a good idea. Do I need to replace all of the hoses pictures included the ones for the throttle body, or just the problematic one for the PCV?

 

make sure you use lithium based grease to not eat away the poly.

I greased the two smaller bushings but only to make install easier with the sleeves and such. You won't need a lot . The bigger one I didn't. Mine doesn't make noise.

Number one rule... NO MOLY ON POLY! But silicone and non moly impregnated lithium are fine, marine grease works very well

 

I think the cause is my truck weighing 5500lbs and lots of skinny pedal offroad. Once it shifts it displaces the bushing more so even less tension holding it.

 

Can anyone tell me factory torque specs on the front coilovers? Bottom bolt and top 3? King says torque to factory specs.

 

Bottom is 101, top is good an tight without being tight enough to strip. I do those by feel for safety

 

47 ft/lbs for the top 3 bolts and 101 ft/lbs for the lower bolt, iirc. Someone correct me if I'm wrong

also good luck getting a torque wrench on those top hat bolts, I agree just make those snug or gudentight

yeah those top hat bolts you aren't going to be able to get a normal torque wrench on. I put a little blue locktite on all of them

 

61 is very light for an M12 fine fastener. Mine I pulled from a 2000 FSM, maybe his screenshot is from a 2nd gen or something

 

Just go till it spins easier
