PO installed a body lift so my filter removal is easy and spill proof. All out the wheel well.

Awesome advice. Looks like I’ll skip my next hot oil treatment. Although I have to say my skin has never felt smoother or better moisturized than it has after catching half a quart of 5w-30.

I'm in same exact boat. Want easy oil changes and better access to components for maintenance and repair? Try the 3" body lift mod:rofl:was on it when I bought it. Pulling starter to change the contacts was a breeze, just like my oil changes haha

Doubt I’ll ever do a body lift but things might get a little easier when I replace the front shocks. I noticed that the coilovers are so beat that about 1/3 or more of the turns on the springs are compressed to the point they are touching.

I changed the starter in the parking lot at work once. In and out in like 30 min.

This $#!+ is worn out, right? There is only 1” of upward travel until the LCA hits the frame.

Pretty much certain it's the same for all first gens. These are the part numbers for my 98. I get mine from partznet.com and others get theirs from parts.camelbacktoyota.com

Some OEM dealers also have a VIN check to make sure you have the right part for your truck.

Since you're doing a tune up anyway. Grab a can of throttle body cleaner and mass air flow cleaner. Takes about 15 minutes to take everything off and clean it.

The only place on my trucks frame that didn't have rust is right under the filter.

    Relax.

You’re alive?! Do you still have your truck? Haven’t seen you on Battlefield in a while, but then again I haven’t played in two months.

Got the bed back on, needed to cut part of the bed crossmember because of the lifted gas tank. Probably compromised some bed integrity so ideally next time the bed is off, I’d like to plate it a little or something. But we’ll see. :notsure:

Truck has been replaced with a TDI since my commute is at least 100 miles a day. PS4 took place of the ps3

Double Dose of Indian Hot Springs
    July 1, 2019.

The day started out just like any other. Well, any other where the previous included a 12-hour drive from home to the starting point of our next adventure.

So it was that, as we lay in bed, I looked over and said, "I've got an idea."

Hey! Get. Your. Head. Out. Of. The. Gutter.

See, we'd planned to spend the day heading to Indian Hot Springs via the east entrance - a dirt track that we'd been meaning to take since we'd first come to Idaho 18 months ago to pick up the CBI Outback Bumper. Having run our of time, we'd headed straight down to The Maze, Canyonlands, and we'd never made it back. Then, at dinner the night before, Ben reminded me that he and Kirsten had tried to reach the springs via the west entrance - stymied by a rock slide on the final descent down into the valley.

So I proposed to @mrs.turbodb that we try the west route first. And then, if we couldn't make it down, we'd drive around to the east. But if we could - and if we could ford the Bruneau River (since the bridge over the river had reportedly been out for a few years) - then we could do both sides on our way east towards City of Rocks, our next destination.

Read the full story and see all the photos: Double Dose of Indian Hot Springs
