Installed some Rago Fab ditch light brackets and Rigid pods yesterday.

 

I gotta get me some of those that allow a light and whip mount. Would love to move my CB antenna to one and my regular radio antenna to the other.

 

I think I paid $200. they removed and installed. full rebuild

 

I think @Tour991 had to replace the rod ends as well though...I had a basic rebuild done on my old SAWs locally and it was only $100 but I had to supply the bearings and spacers (only like $20).

 

Yeah it was more than just a basic rebuild. I replace the lower rod ends, the bearings, the misalignment spacers, the springs, a gallon of oil, and two o ring kits.

 

Got the buttons on my Lexus wheel disguised the best I could. Just covered the back ones with Bondo and semi gloss paint, which I thought was a tad too glossy. So for the fronts I used a Satin Black, which matches much better. I debated trying to Bondo over those too, but since there really isn't anything for it to cling on to, I decided to forgo it. Also it would be hard to get both sides perfectly the same, so I opted just to make the buttons look like blanks. I think it turned out alright, and after covering the backs of them in JB weld, they feel like blanks too.

Hopefully gonna get my hands on an 03 Rav4 airbag tomorrow to complete this wheel. Also gonna check with my neighbor who does upholstery about repairing some of the leather where the topcoat has worn off.

Nope, nothing added. Box stock 4 cylinder extacab. Thinking about Monroe Quick Struts since I think I need shocks and springs and don’t want to break the bank. What I don’t know is if I pony up the money for Billstiens do I need 880, 881 or some other spring?

 

Curious to see what you do for the reupholstering. The top coat on mine is starting to wear off in some spots. Still way better than my previous wheel

 

Hopefully it doesnt need a complete redo with new leather. It looks fixable based on what Ive seen online.

01 IS300. I *think a wheel from an 01-03 Rav4 will work but it isn't leather wrapped. But either way as far as I know this is only plug and play for 01+ trucks. It will fit on the earlier trucks but the horn connection is different and the cruise control is different. I think @Speedytech7 had one on his truck.

 

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say. I think they ride like a truck suspension should. Firm yet not harsh.

 

Question for the 1st Gen mechanics,

Headed home on the freeway today cruising at 55mph plus or minus.

Vibration started out of nowhere, audible and can feel thumping on the floorboard.
Weird thing is it almost went away completely as I was slowing down but came back as I started to move from the red light.

Pulled off the freeway expecting to see a tire separating but it doesn’t appear that is the case. What else could it be/where should I start looking?

How's your carrier bearing? Driveline vibes could be coming from it
