Took my girl down to NTB and had the 4 wheel alignment done. I purchased a 5 year plan earlier this year with a discounted price. So glad I did this today, since my left front toe was out. drives fine as wine now, and won't have to worry about this for awhile. I hit a set of railroad crossings a week ago, at the posted speed limit. My front end bottomed out so hard, that I almost lost control when it rebounded. Scared the crap out of me, and I have since just ordered a new set of Bilstein 4600 shocks. It rides fine on super smooth pavement, but any dips and bumps and it feels like I'm riding on no shocks at all.

Are you sure the locking hub is unlocked?

Yes, I just finished taking that side apart and making sure the pawl and clutch are engaging properly. Neither side is locked. Noise is still present with the hubs locked too.

Did this start happening after the LBJ failure or was it present before?

It was present before but it seems even louder after my LBJ issue

Might be the bearing then, the LBJ failure may have exacerbated it. IDK though

That’s what I’m afraid of. I couldn’t find any obvious play when I inspected the wheel on jackstands, but it could still be there.

I think I would want to pull the wheel, caliper and brake rotor then give the bearing a turn by hand.

I just had the passenger side steering knuckle out since I had to extract broken bolts. The bearing spun fine no issue.

    Oh. Well crap.

No chance it could be coming from the transmission area?

Anyone know if there is a fuse for the interior light on the 1995 4x4 single cabs? I didn't see one under the dash in the usual spot and my mirror / dome light assembly doesn't seem to be putting out any voltage on a multi-meter.

I could always wire something manually but I prefer to use the stock on / off / door modes.

My stupid dome light hasn't worked since a month or two after I got my truck. I replaced the bulb once and it worked for a week or so then quit again, I've just lived with it since. Be curious to know if there's a way to fix it though.

All I need is to get power there, I have a couple prototypes from work I want to test in the truck with a 3D printed housing. So if someone knows why it's not showing any power to the mirror it would help. I couldn't really see much in the FSM but I might not be using the correct terms for it.

Thank you very much. I will definitely take you up on that offer.

Your truck has always been Top 10 for me. I remember saving your build thread to my watched threads years ago. Don't remember seeing the swap in there.

Wish my truck was Impulse Red Pearl. Closest thing to Sunfire Red Pearl... the color of the gods.

Could be, it's very obviously coming from the Passenger side.

You can recreate the noise spinning it by hand with the tire off right? Or does it only happen with the tire on?

Can't hear it just spinning it by hand, you don't even really hear it at low speeds either.

If it were transmission id expect it to change with engine speed.

Maybe swap tires and see if it moves?
