Oh yea thats a bummer, I stripped all the rust off with a wire brush before painting! So no actual rust below the paint. Picture below IMG_2028.jpg

Thanks! I'm terrible about updating it. I had planned on doing some sort of write up for the swap but I was in a time crunch. I'm sure you've found it, but @SafetyDang and a few others over in ttora had a bunch of good info. Off the top of my head, rear drive shaft needs shortening or lengthening, I forget, but I'll pull measurements as all three are on my workbench. Also the thing I didn't see anywhere are the starter bolts are different lengths, I ordered from McMaster, I can find out what length tomorrow.

testing the FF thorough the underbody pressure washer
day 2 of fluid film testing for durability

looks as though some spots are already wearing off after the drizzle it got :notsure:
bottom looks ok, possibly because the underwash does not hit it with the high pressure like it does on the rockers

    IMG_9680.jpg

wish there was some hard rain in the forecast to really test it out!

maybe half a spray can so far, but i did not spray the whole thing, just where i had naked steel with a zinc coating on half the passenger side, (first time user it seems like i overdosed it lol, just gooped it on all over)
trying to prevent flash rust until the weather gets over 70s for several days to primer and maybe paint weather permitting

Nice! Good luck. Ill be doing a full fluid film after I finish painting my frame. Hoping 3-4 cans will be enough for inside and out of frame

I don't know how you plan on getting all that FF cleaned off enough to be ready for paint.

Just picked up my truck this morning from getting the clutch installed. The factory clutch was still in at 420k miles according to the guy that put it in. The pressure plate had 2 of the 4 springs gone. They fell out when he removed the trans. What’s next???

Well shit; it was a good day yesterday since I got my custom sliders on...I'll post a separate thread on it.

    20191016_200958.jpg
During all that, we spotted a ton of wet spots underneath my truck; both my transmission oil pan was leaking and my shock had blown out :annoyed:

All recent of course since I do a weekly check underneath my truck.

    20191016_113655.jpg

    20191017_135801.jpg

Not being one to put shit off, I tackled it all today.

    20191017_124625.jpg

Curse the son of a bitch that used this much RTV :frusty:

    20191017_150122.jpg

    20191017_150117.jpg

    Can't mess around...boss is watching.
    20191017_135813.jpg

Once I pressure washed the underside, and removed all the RTV from the transmission and pan, I buttoned it all up. Good thing I had those Bilstein 5100's set aside.
