It'll be fine, prep your welds well. Chamfer your edges, set the power to D and the wire speed appropriately. I weld everyday with a Lincoln 175 at work and rarely turn it up to max for anything under 3/8. The 140 (which I have at home) should be great for your bumper if it's 3/16 to a 1/4. If it is a 1/4 consider doing a root filet and then a bottom and top filet in that order.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

Actually yes, I have looked at an illuminated blue sign at night. And it's a sign... just like a green sign or any other sign.

But what does your comment have to do with the post you quoted? Blue signs are for NON directional "service" information. Green is for directional information. Because green signifies "to proceed"... you know, like GREEN LIGHTS.

Don't believe me... ok... read the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices... that's the code that determines sign shapes, sizes, and... well, would ya look at that... COLORS.

Evolution of Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices... QUOTE:
In 1924, the First National Conference on Street and Highway Safety (NCSHS) improved on earlier efforts and proposed standardizing colors for traffic control devices. Again, many remain in use today. For example, signs with white letters on a red background indicated STOP. White letters on a green background signified proceed. Black letters on a yellow background advised caution. Black and white signs providing information on direction and distance were specified for every intersection and junction. One combination that didn't last was white letters on purple background, indicating an intersection!

    LINK: https://mutcd.fhwa.dot.gov/kno-history.htm

So... I will say again... the color green on road signs has...
    NOTHING
    TO
    DO
    WITH
    SENSITIVITY
    OF
    EYES
    OR
    BLUE
    BEING
    "WORSE"
    ON
    YOUR
    EYES.

    PERIOD.

good luck. i just did this job yesterday, thankfully before a failure. i had to beat the crap out of one of the stems, a result of using the wrong puller. once i got a pitman on there square, it popped off. lots of pressure needed. have a long breaker handy.

@turbodb sells a hardline set. I plan on going wheelers tundra lines and his hard lines eventually, but I don't want my banjo bolt lines to go to waste.

Ah got it. I’m only running 32’s with no armor but I think I’m going to redo my brakes. Idk if I want to go oem or this kit:https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p...N9sYhC14qLRopq4eGCQYqSYG6sz0bUWRoCg_oQAvD_BwE

The tundra brake swap is awesome but more of a headache if you don’t need the stopping power.

I disagree. 100% disagree. The stock brakes are not very safe unless the truck is completely empty and has no gas in the tank.

Huh? Aside from the people that post on here, the overwhelming majority of 1st gen owners are rocking the stock brakes. If they are unsafe as you say they are, there would be more accidents reported/recalls etc.

I see zero reason for tundra brakes on a truck unless its heavily loaded down, on bigger tires etc.

    I have mods
Even with my front/rear bumpers, larger tires (285/75/16) and the rack and tent on the truck, the stock brakes, when working properly, are adequate. They will get the job done and stop the truck. I have done a panic stop with the truck loaded before so know that they work fairly well. I do want to upgrade to the Tundra brakes but I can live with the stock brakes for now because they DO work.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

Let me outline the progression of this.

    >>> @Running Man made the point that Highway signs are green... He incorrectly made the point that they are green because they used to be blue and green is not as hard on your eyes. This is absolutely, provably, demonstrably false.

    >>> Monty brought up the wavelengths of blue vs red.

    >>> I then made the point that red can be more blurry than blue (the lengths of those wave lengths Monty mentioned are exactly why red can be more blurry and harder to see than blue)

    >>> YOU started talking about signs again

    >>> I replied.

You say red is not more fuzzy than blue. And that it's a proven fact... any argument on the contrary is ignorant.

    VisibleLightSpectrumPlus.jpg

Actually, what is a "proven fact" is that Green is widely regarded as the most visibly perceptible color on the scale for most of the general public. And blue is directly adjacent to green on the scale.... Red, however is all the way at the other end of that scale and much of it is moving towards the non-visible scale.

The entire argument that blue light has shorter wavelengths, and reaches deeper in to the retinas, as being why "Blue light is worse for your eyes" is EXACTLY WHY blue light is more perceptible and generally less blurry than red, as a rule.

As far as dashboard lights... I can tell you from personal experience that Red is more blurry than Blue.

But here is a side by side comparison between Red, Blue, White, Green... To me, White is the most perceptible. Blue would be second most clear, then green, and red is least. Meaning... Just what I said to Monty earlier... I find myself having to specifically focus on red to see it, where I can just glance at blue.
