My first set of Durobumps split apart on one side (the LCA bumps), but he was really cool about it and sent me another set. Said he changed them a bit from the original version I had bought on his first group buy. But the second set is starting to split as well :/ I don't do any crazy jumping of my truck or anything so it's a little weird. Both times on the same side (driver) LCA.

is it possible that this tool will also easily remove the wiring harness clips without damage underneath the bed?

thats kinda crazy, glad my bumps havent split yet, and they have taken some solid hits. My driverside diff mount bushing or whatever theyre called was toast, since i dont have skids on right now I couldnt keep looking at shredded rubber hanging there when I had the durabumps replacements right there on the shelf

I don't see how that would help really.

Just use a thin screw driver to get under the tab. Just have to pay attention to get it under the right one. I also find using some small vice grips on the end of the female connector to hold it helps a lot. Then use a second screw driver to pry on the male connector lip a bit and it'll come loose.

If you have the caster maxed out at your LCAs, the rear bumpstop will only contact the strike plate with the inner half of the bump, if that makes sense. It will push the polyurethane into the bolt head that holds them to the LCA and cause it to split. You need to extend your strike plates to get full contact of the bumpstop. You can see where it's starting to split in the photo below before we extended the strike plate.

Interesting...I do have my caster set to 3°, I don't know if that's considered maxed or not. But I only recently had that done maybe 8 months ago, these issues with my bump stops were happening when my caster was in the 1.5° - 2° range

3 degrees is pretty maxed, but it's more about the position of the rear cam. If it's close to all the way out, your bumpstop is not landing squarely on the strike plate.

How much are they splitting? Mine are doing that too. I'm thinking it is caused by the head of the bump stop's mounting bolt. The bump does not strike the upper stop surface squarely so the inside edge of the bump gets rolled into that bolt head down inside the bump.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

Would an OEM J-shift lever help you out?

I did twin sticks when I swapped my truck to 4wd. I have a J-shift lever sitting in my parts box, I'll never use.

Yeah they look about the same as yours do, this second set I have that is. The first set actually spilt to the point it was nearly broken in half and chunked up a bit. I noticed that too that it appears the bump doesn't squarely hit the stop surface and instead seems to only make contact with half of the bump stop which would explain the splitting I think. Last time I checked both sides the other side looked like it had the beginning of a small split as well but not as bad as the driver side. In light of this convo I'll take another look at them tomorrow in the daylight and report back, it's been some weeks since I last checked them.
