    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

Only thing that was bad was the damn hydraulic lines. Everything else was actually pretty easy.

line start spinning with the fitting? thats the biggest issue with doing any rack if it has a little bit of rust.

    or the tight fit.

That’s what mine was doing, had to order a special wrench to get by my vice grips. Was a PITA

may sound crazy. but dealing rusty lines, a little bit of brake fluid on the fitting the night before works wonders.

No, seems like this rack has be replaced before. The flare nuts were chewed up before we even started so they were a mutherfucker to get off (plus they were tight like a retarded ape tightened them). End up having to say fuck it and use vise grips to get them to brake loose.

The outer line has a factory clamp on the rubber hose and the replacement rack came with it attached. So we could just pitch the old one that was on the truck.

The inner line, however, has a compression fitting... so after I got it loose and the rack out, I had to clean up the burs on it with a dremel.

Then... putting it back on... the inner line is at a slight angle, so it makes it a bitch to line back up to get it to thread right.

Mine was doing the same thing. I pulled the transmission, replaced the rear main seal, put it all back together, still leaking. Pulled it back out replaced the the transmission input shaft seal, put it back together, fixed it. So while you have it apart don't be dumb like I was, replaced the input shaft seal. Pulling the transmission twice because of a $6 seal isn't any fun.

Fixed my creaky squeaking clutch finally. Got some high temp general grease, pulled the boot from around the transmission from the clutch slave and gooped it all on the pivot joints. It didn't fix it at first when I did it last night, but drove it this morning and it's now gone. Fingers crossed this lasts long. IMO kinda weird the boot has breather holes that go directly into the transmission. BC when u go mudding/offroading in general it's open to dust n debris; which is probs why I developed the creak lol

    Bout tree fiddy.

Nah but for real if ur still having creak and or squeaking with the clutch; definitely consider grease in the pivots under and by the boot that connects to the transmission. It's SO FKN NICE to no longer have a loud metal scrape sound on each release of my clutch. easy to pull the boot and glop some on there, I wouldn't spray any liquid lubes in there tho

my major squeak that is bothersome is only in the inside spring assembly so far, has been squeaking 'seasonally' since the late 90s probably!
it disappeared with some Nut-Z lube and the pedal operates near like-new now, but was not an easy place to access with care

no rush, whenever, its too cold here to look at anything other than behind my fender liners in the rear to see how the spray is holding up so far
    on the hunt for gremlins...

It may still be squeaking from the same spot as mine, I could hear it from inside of the truck; which could confuse people into thinking it is that spring. But the boot that connects directly to the transmission does have breather hole which can allow dust in there to get in between the pivot joints. Best of luck my friend

Replace the torsional spring with a linear one and you'll never have to worry about it again. Takes all of 5 minutes...

Also when it comes to alternator, AC and PS belts. Do you guys use OEM or just store brand?

someday probably!!, when i have more headroom to look at it
but definitely if it ever starts acting like what i have read about the pedal not coming all the way up off the floor and having to use the toe to drag it back up.
so far there is nothing noticeable like that happening

i am not sure if that issue is a function of wear/use or time elapsed
