    Definitely don't need to send them to Toytec or King (unless Toytec is local)... anyone that knows how to rebuild shocks and understands valving can do it. Doesn't have to be the manufacturer.

    Loaded question. Totally depends on use, climate, upkeep, etc.

    I think your biggest issue will be corrosion. Mag Chloride isn't kind to these shocks. If you keep up on them in the winter by washing them regularly and spraying them with boesheild or similar, I'd say you could go 50k miles. You might have to replace the lower spherical bearing half way through that though.

    A rebuild is cheap compared to replacing ruined parts because you put off a rebuild.

    Edit: Gratuitous two cents while we're on the subject - if you're not looking to be meticulous with maintenance, stay away from performance shocks. The trade off for performance is lots of upkeep.

    I got about 15k on mine before I needed to replace the bearings in the lower eyelet, got them rebuilt at 25k but only because I wanted them revalved. Probably could have gone a bit longer.

    I do wheel with them pretty regularly though and daily drive my truck. The mud and dirt did the bearings in pretty early. If you hit them with a hose after every wheeling trip it'll help, I wasn't so good about that early on

    Typically as a daily driver I go through a set of Monroe quick struts in two years but they are too soft and that’s
    about 60,000 miles. I was hoping for at least 50k,
    Am I better to go with Eibach performance coil struts setup then.

    dealer just started recommending this to me in the past couple years, i take a pass
    i have been told you really don't need to change it until its time for a new rack, unless there's a leak or something in the system :notsure:

    i would like mine to be much better but i have the battle of variable humidity and potential winter roadspray with chemicals that seem to find its way up inside there :(
    plus my engine compartment weather strips mysteriously 'disappeared' when the body shop fixed my hood and now i am having great difficulty finding the exact B-channel rubber strips to put back on the rails to keep the elements from seeping in on the topside :mad:

    I'm no pro with these, but if I understand them right, any of these high performance coilovers will use a lower spherical bearing for that lower attach point of the coil over. That bearing is what requires service most frequent it seems from others posts and stuff. I believe that bearing wearing would also be directly dependent on the off road or even on road conditions. Like those jarring abrupt direct hard hits that make you cringe after.... I hate those hits lol. But the rebuilding of the shock and valving prolly not too often. This is why oem coil overs, and pretty much all oem suspension, uses bushings instead of bearings. But off road racers will have bearings in there coil overs and suspension components for greater flexing and amount of movement or travel.
    Fernando make a good suggestion which might be something worth checking on, the Old Man Emu(OME) coil overs. They can also come preaassembled and are supposed to be a little firmer valved for heavier weight and stuff.
