What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Just working on it after work sucks but nearing closer. Doing all ball joints and all steering parts too

 

The Wheelers SS brake lines should work for the Tacoma as long as they don't specifically say they're for Tundra calipers. I know they sell SS brake lines for our trucks, but I got mine on eBay (Stoptech brand).

cool beans. Just didn’t know if I had to drill the banjos or deal with that. Got them directly from wheelers years ago

I didn't have to do any drilling to install mine on my stock calipers but they are a different brand, though I don't know why the Wheelers would be any different

Not necessarily. I had an aftermarket pulley that used a different bearing than OEM.

 

Yeah I felt that might be the case, that Amazon link looks like it's for the OEM pulley with the snap ring. I'll take a caliper to it and see if I can conmpare.

Decided for my birthday I wanted a touchscreen apple car play capable radio and a reverse camera.Got that accomplished today

 

does it tilt? How much if you don’t mind my asking

 

what color cup holder did you go with? Grey? Can’t tell if it’s that or tan. Bad eyes....

 

Doesn’t tilt and with backup camera kit and wiring harness it was like $380.Seemed like best bang for the buck and I liked that it had a volume knob and a hyper charge USB port.Was very easy to install all you gotta do is use the factory double din radio bracket and put it on that radio and wire it up.The backup camera running the wires through firewall and all the way to the back of truck was the worst part everything else was easy

 

Anyone tried the RainX silicon wiper blades? Just saw a tv ad recently, and wondered how well they work, and life expectancy.

 

Done a many of these my friend. You tap into the reverse light wire? Most of the time there’s a grommet inside the cab you can drop it instead of firewall. Not sure about Tacoma’s. Most of the time was SUVs I did. Just run it through and have fun running wire through the little rubber to go with the lift gate

 

do they just sell the rubber inserts that can fit direct into (perhaps a small trim) the existing equipment

 

i 'may' have this noise going on too, not sure, its louder when its colder & below freezing
