It's less Tacoma and more mod
Sliders shipped but everything is taking forever to get here. I have a dozen tracking tabs open and it's been that way for a couple weeks

Got the new clutch in and the transmission back up. It got dark so tomorrow I'll finish the drive shafts and take her for a spin! I'm so tired of laying in the dirt wrenching, I need a driveway.

Today I opened a box from my local dealer hoping to find some 95 base 2wd side mirrors and found they had sent me the same mirrors already on my 2002! Returned them and they said they are going to try and hunt some down for me on Monday.
May the Tacoma Gods smile upon me since I am unable to locate these in oem version with the manual stick adjustments anywhere. :fingerscrossed:

Oh yeah had to order a new antenna assembly as well, my nut was so rusty I tried to replace it and the slot tabs broke off. Then I proceeded to ruin the threads on the housing trying to get it off with some vice grips! Guess I had to go to the dealer anyhow to return the mirrors, so at least got a couple things accomplished with the trip and exchanged the nut for the new assembly while I was there.

Things dont always go as planned.. in the World of Tacoma's!!

In the last two days I put in new inner and outer tie rods, adjusted my ride height (drivers drivers side was sitting half inch lower), changed the oil and put in some fresh spark plugs. 20200509_131006.jpg

Another ✔ Transfer case covered by Skid Row Offroad.

Only minor modifications needed to make them work with my 4xInnovations skids.

Will probably end up stratigically reinforcing them but I'm going to run them as is for now.

Well I almost feel bad admitting it but the parts guy at Toyota had ordered these for some dudes tundra and he didn’t like them so I bought them off the parts guy with the new lugs and all for a grand total of $536 after taxes and all. I wasn’t in the market for wheels honestly but you can’t pass up a deal that good

Finally got my hands on 4 quarts of Redline MT-90 and changed the fluid in my transfer case and manual transmission. The first time I did it what came out of the drain holes was black and smelled like death from the depths of hell. This time everything looked good enough to pour over some vanilla ice cream but sanity prevailed. This was not really worthy of a picture but just to shut you all up preemptively... here you go

I wish... lol... The water pump was beginning to leak so it wasn't quite that simple.

This bracket bolts to the (former) tailgate latch mounting points.

    20200510_154906.jpg

The bumper brackets are also 1/2 flat bar, mounting like a class III Reciever hitch. The 1/2 flatbar runs through the bumper solid and the tow points were shaped out of them. (in other words if you pull from the tow point you are pulling 100% on the frame, not the bumper.

@Reh5108... The posts were also connected to the bumper like this. I don't even think I need the tabs that mount to the tail gate latch mounting points. Posts are 2x2 (3/16th wall)

Can't hurt to have them. Seems like a pretty stout setup.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

It's been good for about a year. I'm just kind of re-configuring a few things I wanted to change (that I learned about when using it).

It used to hinge on the pass side. But our camp is on the pass side (awning is on pass side) So we had to walk all the way around the swing out to get in the bed when the swing out was open. Now it swings from driver side. We're going to set up the kitchen area off the back of the truck now.

Also the tabs for the hinge and pins were pointed in where the swing out was between them. Now the swing out is mounted on the back of the posts. Now the tabs for the latch pins, and for the hinges wont be in the way loading the bed. It also moves the swing out back giving me increase in bed length of about 2.5 inches. (Doesn't sound like much, but it is).
