Man I love the full reset before starting a new project. Feels so good to have everything back in it's place, if only for a minute.

That looks like a really fun weekend right there!

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

It was really a must to get in cleaned out. It had been a few months. Shit was piled up everywhere, and I couldn't even get to anything. Didn't help my kid's 4 runner has been sitting in the garage for a month waiting on my coil overs to get here (I had to steal his off his truck to use for mine, while I wait for my new coilovers).

Luckily we helped @Reyes87 install new shocks/coils last weekend. His old ones had a spacer lift on top, so we could throw them on the T4R... cause I'm STILL waiting for my coilovers. (5 weeks and counting... not easy because I am an extremely impatient mutherfuker).

Getting this off the bottom of last page

Anyone have a part number for the rear shock mounting bolts? I'm struggling to even find that. Currently leaning towards option 2, but it'd be nice to be able to order the flip kit and lower shock mounts/hardware from one place. Any suggestions?

You can find just about any part number you are looking for here, just enter your vin number. Then select the right section and correct part diagram. It often even has pictures if you click the part number and the little camera next to it.

Trail Gear family of companies sells all of that stuff I believe, but shipping and stuff from them is a nightmare right now FYI. With only a week before you need the truck back, you may have limited options

Yes, I vote yes, to buying another Tacoma already with the manual transmission your craving so much. That way, you'll have the best of both worlds. And remember 2 tacoma's are better than 1. Keep one stock and build the other how you want it.

Day 5. All the hard work finished. Just waiting to put the bed back on hopefully tomorrow with help of a friend.

Temporarily primed the bed until I get to bed lining. I have monstaliner on hand so I’m thinking that’ll be next week. Then I grind down the welds and smooth everything out.

That would be good but I wasn't really serious about doing it. The more realistic plan for me is to run my high mileage but roomy DC till the motor or transmission needs replaced. Then revisit the M/T swap plan or look for another taco.

Thanks, though they could be better. Honestly, the original bed material is garbage. I didn’t take the time to properly prep any surfaces knowing I was just going to grind them off anyway.

Took off work half way through the day because I found my buddy an insane deal on a Subaru. So we ditched out at lunch, hit a U-Haul and snagged a full size trailer cause... Subaru.

The old girl didn't have a great time hauling the 3k Subi + whatever the heavy ass trailer weighed but she got it done. Wouldn't have wanted to tow that much weight for very long or up a bunch of hills.

    IMG_1795.jpg
It's a 2001 Impreza Outback Sport. Motor is toast but it's otherwise in great shape and has a ton of new parts with 176k on the clock. Clean title and we snagged it for $500! Going to help him put an STI motor in it or some such. I don't know much about these cars but I think that is a solid deal regardless :)
