Did you have to press the spindle adaptor into the spindle or did it just pop in?

Did SPC change their design again, they didn't use to be a cast part, they were tubular.

Yep. I’ve been considering them only for the bushings. They updated them to a non no need to grease design.

They change their parts a lot without ever changing the part number. Years and years ago they were known for coming apart at the welds (they were called light racing at the time), then later the balljoints were a mess and separated... this last iteration that was around up until just recently apparently were actually an amazing value and held up super well. Lets hope these new cast versions do as well and maybe the prices drop due to the cheaper process.

Looks like vulcanized rubber like stock now. Oh well, still probably a good value.

Pretty sure the previous version is now part of mevotechs supreme lineup

Mevotech is a cheap third party part name that rebrands all manner of things, SPC being one of them. As stock wears down they'll switch to this new design if it truly is being kept by SPC.

Yeah they changed the arms to a forged design instead of tubular like they were before.

Mine are about 4 years old and tubular all around

I just bought a pair of SPC control arms a month ago and they're totally tubular.IMG_0354.jpg

Interesting. I wonder why mine are cast?
They came in SPC packaging and have SPC stamped in the metal. Maybe the change was recent

Looks like they use both tubular and cast designs

Got my front axle reinserted and took it for a test drive, but now I'm hearing a slight rotational metal on metal scraping sound. I can replicate it by jacking up that wheel and spinning it, when driving I only hear it starting at 20mph and it gets louder with speed. I've tried bending the brake dust shield back without any improvement. Any suggestions as to what else I should be looking at, or how to diagnose the issue?

[EDIT] It was the inner part of the brake dust shield. :annoyed:

Might try to shift in 4x4 while driving and see if that takes the noise away. Mine started making similar noise about 35 mph and immediately quit when shifting into 4x4. If that stops the noise it would be your needle bearing on the driver side front diff. Swapped the ECGS bushing into mine and it hasn't made a bit of noise since.
