Cool. Yeah it is nice. I had a problem getting the band on the plastic part but I’m just gonna pull the fender completely when I get my bumper. For 120 or whatever it was you cant go wrong.

I still have my factory radio and the reception isn't that great. So today I installed an old CB antenna I had laying around. I purchased an adapter for my antenna plug and installed it.
And it works better!

New radio antenna


Cut off the old one for now.

I found a pair from Amazon a while ago. Not OEM, but they work, fit and look perfect. Think I paid $50 for the pair.

 

Not just today, but I got some weather tech floor mats for my 02, the look nice. I bought some new seat covers, the woven blanket kind. I hand painted my rims black and it turned out perfect. I installed a new navigation system with apple car play and it’s awesome. I’m waiting on my Four wheel camper. I sold my older one, an All Terrain to replace with this new one. I’ll get it installed early November. Still lots to do with it. I want to get into over landing with it. I’ve 4 wheeled with it a bit but now my wife wants to finally use it starting out slow.

 

I started fixing up my new to me 03 Taco.

detailed the inside and found a paint that is a very close match to the interior. Had oak seat bezels that are now charcoal. I’ll install tomorrow. I scuffed and sanded the rear set cubby front the first pic and it now looks great. I’ll probably remove the entire center console that is scuffed to hell and paint it and the glovebox in a week or so.

 

Replacing bed with different bed. Cleaned and painted with Duplicolor Rust Barrier paint. I'm thinking of hitting it with undercoating next, as soon as the rust barrier paint dries. 385,000+ and rolling....

 

If you don't want to paint the pieces that are just scratched and scuffed, you can hit them with a heat gun (carefully), and it works magic on them.

 

Sides complete, gonna be fun to assemble.

Is the evap/charcoal canister for an 01 necessary for the truck to run properly or only for emissions? don’t care about emissions/check engine light just worried about performance issues

 

Only emissions, you can remove it. If you leave a clogged one installed you'll have fuel tank pressure issues and possibly fuel boil issues in hot climates. Without the box you'll just have raw fuel smell

 

Cap the lines or just cut them short?

 

Find a safe place to vent them and cap the port where it enters the engine bay unless you desire a vac leak. Lots of designs have purge line venting into the frame rail for safety, keep it away from sparks and flame. It is fuel vapor afterall.
