Having trouble with my transmission jumping. I just reset my ECU when I disconnected it. This has happened before, but it worked itself out pretty quick. Im going to flush it then see how it is from there. Its hard to notice, but at the beginning, the needle is constantly jumping: you can kinda hear it too.

I don't think that's the trans... you're not moving and at idle.

It's normal for the ECU to take a while to "find" the proper idle after being reset.
My wife's Rav4 will barely even run after replacing the battery... need to keep a foot on the gas for the first half hour or so or it'll stall.

Seriously... what is it with people feeling the need to "reset" the ECU?
The only time any of my ECUs have been reset is when the battery was changed. Never once in the 20+ years that cars have had ECUs have I needed to intentionally reset one.

Thank you for the reply, this is very helpful.
I am going to flush my trans soon just because its about time, and I have already gotten my rear seal fixed because of dirt ruining it, so the trans probably needs it too.

I am in no means for purposely resetting the ECU. It is unnecessary, and I know my truck would act up. I only disconnected the battery to Safely do some wiring.

Gotcha... Just getting it out there because it seems we're always seeing threads talking about resetting the ECU as if it's going to fix something.
It might temporarily clear a CEL, or if the issue that caused the CEL was already corrected, it might clear a CEL that would have cleared itself in a couple of days anyways.

New intake or exhaust? Ya... that's a legitimate reason to reset it to "reboot" the relearn process.

Exactly. I would only think to reset the ECU after a Supercharger/Turbo install. Thats a good reason, exhaust is also a good idea for the system to cope with the new pressure and avoid blowing a gasket: I seen this occur before.
    But not me:D

I think white would pop out a lot... Unless you have some red anywhere else that may look outta place. But that's just personal preference. GL!

Yesterday I washed it, used meguire's quik detailer, touched up some areas with touch up paint pen/brush from dealer and slapped a new decal on to cover the dent. Came out ok I think.

    UPDATE:

Sum bitch. Passenger side works great. Driver side STILL fuckin gets moisture in there.

I resealed the hell out of it a 2nd time too.

Only thing I can think of (ANYONES .02 cents PLEASE) is when i put the side marker bulb in, I'm not sure it is making a perfect seat in there. Could moisture get in that way???? You can tell that's where the fogging starts.

Other than that, I'm selling them for someone to fuck with , or drop kicking the shit out of them.

Derped the chrome grill. Looks 1000x better than the chrome, and I did a god awful job. Sometime in the next couple of weeks I'll be color matching the grille with real paint, and doing the satoshi at the same time. I can't live with chrome any longer!

Them seem to seal good. It's the only thing I can think of. The corner marker light on passenger side goes in nice. Driver side (one still fogging) seems to not go in quite as smooth. Guess I could put gum or some sgit around it and drive in the rain and see if that helps. If so then i could use some kind of putty when I put the side marker light in.

Look out for snakes in the grass guerrilla marketing.
Thanks fellas, I used a dremel for around the edges and some (believe it or not) pvc pipe cutters to cut the main plastic supports holding the center chunk - pretty tough to cut the plastic without melting it so I had a fan blowing the fumes away from me. Wore shades as well just in case anything flew up into my eyes, tiny hot plastic is no joke lol. Still had a ton of little plastic pieces all over the floor from where it melted and cooled but it was my first time doing this so no worries. Just take your time and it all works out ;)

Took me about 3 1/2 hours but I went real slow and easy. The sides are where the plastic is thickest and was the most pain in the ass although I imagine if I had proper tools it wouldn't have been as slow.

    Go for it man :)

Put on a 3" lift from Fat Bobs, new 285 75/R17 Nitto Grapplers and some new Pro comp rims. Did all the trimming and just need to get the windows tinted a little darker.

    All I can is sexy!!:D
